all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ Right, eh, did she have everything? She checked her bag: wallet, keys, phone (it was one for the change of scenery) everything. There was simply one thing she had forgotten but she could not figure it out, what the hell was it? Well there were a few things but the thing Hanako had forgotten was that in the underground chat, sh ehad simply be Scandal, she had not said anything about an assistant or whatsoever and had simply said to go shopping with Elena for the day and she wanted to do that. But she did not want to leave her little boy. Daddy had to work but he would be around but she really did not want to so in the end, she had convinced herself to take the stroller and take Kai with her, whether G would like it or not. She was at the gym in Musutafu so she could still go home to pick a few things up but nothing would cross her mind. She had the bottles and the pacifier and his little toy and so on, she made sure he was dressed well, not too warm and not too cold and that the stroller would be of interest to him. Shopping with your baby, it felt like the worst idea she had since he was born. There were more things she wanted to do, bringing him to meet Fix was probably not the smartest idea but she wasn't really sure if she should go there and pick up the glasses. The plan she had more than six months ago were a little scary right now to say the least. But if it would work out the way she had in mind, it could be very useful, the thing was that she knew that G would never agree and that she would not want to hide it from him but she needed to find a way to convince him, maybe Elena could help with that. Which might be going the same and the two would agree on something without Hanako knowing, yet. She simply shook her head, got the stroller into the cab and her boy in the sling on her body and let them be taken to Tokyo and the meeting point with Elena. Hanako still had not reached the weight of what she had before and to be fair that was probably better, she would be able to show off a proud mom body but sometimes the sneaky thoughts would get back in. G helped with that, to stop those bad thoughts that is, but right now she wasn't sure if she could handle shopping and not fit into her old clothing. Her jeans, something she had not worn before, were a sort of proof that she was doing okay and her shirt was not spectacular but why focus on that when you had to focus on your little baby who was way too small, but he was doing fine and that's why she simply could not leave him alone for any given minute. She was basically so to say addicted to him. Not much later they arrived in Tokyo at the meeting point of the shopping centre and the taxi driver helped her with getting the stroller out and she put little Kai in there and went for the shade on this sunny day and looked around to see if she would be able to spot her friend. She had not a long attention span to look around as Kai made little bubbles with his drool and even if it was not the cleanest thing in the world, it looked absolutely adorable as he laughed when the bubbles popped, oh well, Hana changed.

- I always say shopping is cheaper than a psychiatrist -
Elena was raring to go from the moment she woke up today, having managed, for once, to avoid getting a hangover after work. She wanted to do something fun! Go out somewhere exciting! But if neither of those things lined up then going shopping with a female friend was the next best thing. It had been too long since she'd gone out looking for cute clothes, and on that day it had been both on another friend's funds and...well, to dress him up in women's clothing for some convoluted scheme. Being out with another girl--and not having to think about the weirdness of helping her friend pick out padding to make him look like he had hips--just felt right to her.
Was it bad to want to be normal sometimes?
To top it off, she was likely going to meet Hanako's baby boy, and even if her own biological clock wasn't even close to going off she could still appreciate a cute baby.
She made her way to the shopping center by foot, grateful that this time they were closer to the nice parts of the city rather than the "neutral grounds" of Nakano. It was just a little harder to relax when cops were sniffing around. She'd picked out an outfit that was surprisingly plain--well, for her at least. When one was shopping for clothing, though, one didn't want to have to fight buckles and straps and zippers just to try on clothing for ten to fifteen minutes, then do it all over again. It was a time-saver! And the white lace dress was one of her more modest pieces; even if the baby was way, way too young to remember anything he saw today ever, she still would feel weird walking around in something more body-con or revealing, like her normal wear.
Elena recognized a familiar face through the black glass of her over-sized sunglasses (just because the dress was plain didn't mean she couldn't accessorize) and a bright grin spread over her shimmering gold lips. "Mizu-chaaaaan!" Her voice carried over to greet her friend before she actually reached her, taking a seat next to Hanako and placing a hand on the shoulder further from herself, like a little half-hug. She lifted her shades with her other hand. "How are you doing, nueva mama? Sleeping alright? Eating right? You don't look like you have dark circles under your eyes yet. Good!"
Her arm returned to her own side and her gaze traveled from Hanako to the tiny baby boy in front of her. Elena let out a small sound between a gasp and a squeak. They were so unbelievably tiny! Well, he must only be a month or two old, right? Had she ever seen a baby so little before? Did all of them look somewhat raisin-like? He was still absolutely adorable, wrinkly and teensy and drooling and all. Sooooo cute!
Did he look more like Hanako or G, though? It was hard to tell at this size.
It helped in a way. She didn't need to be reminded of how and why this baby existed.
Felices pensamientos, Elena, pensamientos felices.
"Hello to you too! Don't worry, el nene, Tia Elena got you a little something so that you don't get bored while mami and I are shopping. I think I put it...here!" Elena reached into her bright, gold-sequin covered handbag and withdrew from it a bright blue ring, about as round as a coffee mug and made of thick, durable, chew-able rubber. The rubber was translucent enough to see a number of little white 'beads' that made a nice rattling sound when it was shaken. "I'll be honest I have no idea if he can even chew or lift things at this size, but hey, it's a hundred percent child-safe. When I bought it my roommate gave me a look. Had to assure him it was a gift."
She snorted and placed the ring in the stroller, though she doubted Kai would be able to do anything with it yet. At least the beads would rattle as the stroller moved.
"So. Shopping. What are we on the look-out for, Mizu-chan?"

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ She smiled at her little baby boy as he laughed to her and looked up, his eyes just as blue as his mother's and she smiled, getting distracted when she heard someone call her, well her sort of name, Elena had asked her on her first meeting if she could call her Mizu-chan and here she was reacting to that considering she was meeting up with her friend. "Elena-san, it's good to see you." It was nice to have someone to hang out with, especially with all the stressy things that were going on and she had to admit that her not wanting to split with Kai was maybe not even a good thing but G wasn't home and and... well it did not matter for now. She liked the greeting and the caring that Elena showed when she gave her the half hug and the questions. "Oh, no it goes well." She caught most of her naps with Kai when he went to sleep, as long as she could stay at home she took that moment. She wasn't sure how G was doing while he worked but it seemed to be going fine. It did not feel like a punishment because they were with the two of them.
She watched Elena look at Kai and she loved the reaction after all, she was proud of her lil one and that he was alive was another miracle too but she did not want to talk about that, she tried to forget that now that the both of them were out of the hospital and that she could walk fine too, and that he had no fever and could breathe on his own. She still had to point out to G that they would have to send a thank-you gift to Nimue. Maybe she could find one, but she also had other things on mind to go and get while shopping, now that she was able to talk to Elena, it might help her to put some of her plans into actions. If she remembered her vague knowledge of Spanish, Tia meant aunt and Elena did not know how much that meant to Hanako, but the happy smile on her lips said enough. She raised her eyebrow as Elena had bought something for Kai and she was rather curious to see what it was. He was moving his chubby hands and feet up and down when the two women were looking at him.
She grinned and shook her head while she giggled softly, "That's so sweet of you, thank you." She looked at Kai who looked at it now that it was next to him, making it rattle a bit when he touched it but he did not indeed lift it up, maybe they could put it up in a bit, she would find something, with the other little toys that were on a cord above him for distraction, "Oh, yes I need new clothing and I wouldn't mind looking for baby clothing." She still did not have her old figure back and maybe, she wouldn't even try to get that hour glass back, to be fair, this was far healthier than she had ever been and G loved her still if she looked like this. "How about you?"

- I always say shopping is cheaper than a psychiatrist -
Hanako managed to look just as beautiful as she had the first time they met, even with an infant likely causing her all sorts of stress. Elena almost wanted to ask for whatever sorcery she was using to keep that up. Maybe Kai was just calmer than what movies and television led people to believe babies were like? Or maybe she was just accustomed to undue amounts of stress because of her line of work and romantic (questionable) choices. If the latter were the case, then Elena's hypothetical child rearing would be a walk in the fucking park. It was likely the former reason, though.
With the little rubber rattle ring placed snugly in Kai's stroller, Elena stood up and stretched her arms above her head, listening to Hanako's goals and her return question. "The only thing I need is a new pair of dancing shoes. I broke my favorite pair a few months ago, and I could just wear some of my normal heels, but you know," she looked down at her own pair of bright golden shoes, and the chunky six-inch heel that were attached to them, "When my foot's at a ninety degree angle it's at a ninety degree angle, there's no getting around that. I don't need a busted ankle."
"Aside from that, I've budgeted enough for a couple cute outfits. I'm thinking something rich and earthy; I've got to get ready for those chilly autumn nights, heh."
Es gracioso porque estoy hecho de fuego.
The idea of baby clothes did give her pause for thought. She tilted her head, finger pressed against her lips as they curved into a smug little smile. "Hmm, are you sure you trust me to help pick out clothes for him? Because while I was looking for toys I found the most adorable baby-sized faux-leather jacket, complete with metal-looking foam spikes on the shoulders. I will not hesitate to make that my seconds present."

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ Hanako looked up as Elena stood up and she mentioned her own goals for shopping. She was going to try to not freak out, maybe she should tell her friend, but she did not want to tell another sad story and even if it was a little victory, she wasn't sure if she was ready to share, she was already glad enough that G called her beautiful like every five minutes (hi exaggerating), but that surely did calm her down most of the time. She looked at her bubble of light as he tried to figure out what the thing next to him was and had no eyes for his mother and she simply turned her attention back to Elena with a smile on her face. "A woman can never have enough shoes. Did we not speak about rainbow colours?" Every pair another colour, she grinned and stood up to push the stroller in a bit when they would figure out where to go first. She thought about what her friend said next, almost jealous of the shoes she was wearing, Hana still had not gone back to wearing heels, maybe she could do that when she would have another date night with G, she smiled to herself, lost in a few seconds of daydreaming and nodded, "That's not a bad idea, I think I should look for at least a new coat before that time comes, mark that my priority." She could fit into some of her maternity clothing so that was okay, not that she liked those and those jeans, which she had detested before, still fit like a glove now that she had got a little bit of her figure back, she still had to work for that though. She would, but hopefully not fall into the old obsession again. Maybe that's why it was good that she did not go shopping alone.
She wanted to push the stroller, she did a little with her hip but stopped walking and stared at Elena wondering at first if she was serious but who was she kidding, she knew immediately when Elena was joking and this wasn't that point and she tried to not immediately sputter out a laugh, "To be fair, I think his daddy would find that hilarious." Yes, she could see G buying that for Kai as well. She had been afraid that people would avoid her, especially because she could not take a minute to be away from Kai, she tried to let that go, surely G could handle it but than she would be gone for two hours tops, so now that G was working, she had taken Kai with her, she could not drop him off, no, he had to be with her. "I am really curious to what we find." She was so glad with Elena by her side now that she wanted to focus on that, so that would be a starter, she asked if Elena was good with a specific store that she had in mind and pushed the stroller towards that store if her friend agreed.

Uuuugh, por qué mencionadasías a ese gilipollas?
Elena valiantly did not drop her smug smile into a sneer at the mention of the dreaded 'daddy'--which sounds much more fun than it really was. If she could go the rest of her life without having to think about G and Hanako being a couple again then it would be great. That was obviously not going to happen unless they broke it off, so she was trying to content herself with just not thinking about him in general...which was also pretty impossible, given she was now working with the bastard, because even her loathing and personal hang-ups took a back-seat to protecting the people. Why did she have to have this goddamn noble streak? Couldn't she be more selfish?
What a stupid thing to want, even if only for a moment.
It didn't help that apparently she and G had very similar tastes in a lot of things. Hair color, fashion sense--she realized only after getting on the bus that she was wearing golden sunglasses, too, dammit--and even their goals as vigilantes lined up together.
They'd probably be great friends. If not for, y'know, everything to do with Hanako.
¿No se supone que esto es terapia de compras?
"Well, I'll remember to bookmark it for his first birthday, or just whenever I feel like spoiling him. That's my job here, right? Spoiling?" Elena began to stroll leisurely by Hanako's side, heels clicking on the sidewalk along the sound of the stroller's wheels. Coat for Hanako, clothes for Kai, shoes for Elena, then whatever else they uncovered. Good plan. "So how have you been, outside motherhood and your love-life? Lined up any incredibly dangerous interviews now that you don't have to worry about your baby bump?" Her smile said she was teasing, but there was a genuine curiosity to it. Hanako was one hell of an asset for a vigilante, even if it did put her in harms way to get so close to villains to actually get some useful information. Whether or not the danger was worth the reward was still up for debate. It was still funny picturing a super high-risk target like Thunder Shock sitting down for coffee with little Hanako.
Funny and terrifying.
She occupied herself by window-shopping until she spotted anything worth stopping for. There were some cute coats out in preparation for the approaching fall weather, as well as some raincoats and boots for the more recent rainstorms. Elena pointed a few of the coats out. "Are you more of a satin-lining or faux-fur sort of girl? Looks like there's a couple of both on sale in there?" Ah, sales, the best thing for nearly broke girls like her. Come to think of it, had Hanako mentioned a budget for today? wC: 475, Hanako Hajimari , That awkward moment when you're broke af and most of your friends are absolutely Loaded...

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ She wasn't stupid, she was very aware of what she had said and she wasn't sure how Elena would react, she had made a whole drama out of this, "I know I didn't make him sound like a good man but he is." She said softly, she looked at her little baby, "And I am happy that I got to keep him." She took a deep breath, a little shaking because she did not want to think about what could have happened, it was all fine, he had this little happy smile on his face but it felt like he was dozing off and she had promised herself to not bring another drama onto Elena even if they were now bonding, having this friendly meeting but she did not want to repeat to anyone out loud what happened or what could have happened and that's why she simply kept her eyes on her baby as they would get up and walk to the first shops in this street. Elena as she did before, knew exactly how to get her over those down parts and she laughed a little, "Yes, you are now his, how did you say it, Aunty Elena." She laughed, she loved that Kai would have people that would love him and be there for him, like his sisters but apart from that their family was rather small with no aunts, uncles, grandparents and so on. "He could definitely use a cool aunt like you." While walking she held up the thing Elena had given Kai to see if he liked it and even if he was half asleep he took it and started to nibble on it but again his little eyes started to drop and she was sure that any minute he would fall asleep, maybe she should ask G to pick him up, but well, let's not go there. She looked up because even focused on her son she was listening to Elena. "Oh, no I quit." She gave a wry smile, the fact that she quit would be explained and it would come to the subject she tried to skip before. "It's, it did not go well and I thought about it, it's ridiculous what I did without you know informing the authorities and well that would have been my last project, I just need to be here with my son." Yes, she had to skip her plan, it was too dangerous, "I mean we can't all go an interview Thundershock now can we." She looked up when Elena pointed out the coats in the window, for someone who went shoping, she did barely pay any attention to the shopping, a little bit stupid if she said so herself and she frowned a little, tilted her head, "I want to try that one. As for your question I am more a satin-lining kinda girl." But she had to get a practical coat and they weren't all like that but she would see, there were a few cute ones over there.

- I always say shopping is cheaper than a psychiatrist -
There was a moment of silence from Elena. She wasn't sure what Hanako wanted to hear right now. Well, no, she was pretty sure she wanted to hear Elena agree that all the stress and pain and what-have-you was worth her having G by her side; and if she could forgive him, why couldn't Elena, who wasn't the one "wronged" in the first place? Was she just being stubborn? Yes. Yes, a hundred percent. There was more to it, though, than simple stubbornness. Men like that just didn't change, she knew it.
Sooner or later he'd do something to hurt Hanako again. And instead of being able to walk away like she'd had the chance to before, Hanako would now be stuck with both him and their child. She'd gotten herself roped even deeper into that man's bullshit. Elena wouldn't be the one to say "I told you so", but damm it would be hard not to.
...still, thinking that way, let alone saying anything, would ruin today.
Solo muerde tu lengua por una vez, Elena.
"Geeze, all my friends are having or getting kids these days. I thought that wasn't supposed to happen until I was older? That's what I get for being the 'baby' of the circle, isn't it," Elena sighed melodramatically, cupping her own face with her hand. If Kai grew up to be even a fraction of the lunatic Yui was then she was on her way to an early grave. What Hanako said next caught her a little off-guard. "You...oh. I guess I thought you'd just go on some sort of extended parental leave, or something. You really aren't doing the whole 'Scandal' thing anymore?" She pursed her golden lips. Great. Worry was overriding her good mood again. At least it wasn't anger this time, but still. This was supposed to be a fun day. "You've still got enough saved up, right? Or are looking for a normal career? I don't know what G does for a day job, but is it enough to support you and Kai? Kids are super expensive, cariña..."
On one hand it was a really good thing she'd quit. Being around villains, even for a short period of time in a public place, was too dangerous for anyone not training to fight those sort of criminals. Hanako really was better off keeping away from that life. On the other it meant losing the sorts of ties or tabs Hanako did have on the criminal underground. It wasn't like nobody else could get that kind of information--she was pretty sure Kohaku could do something like that, if he wanted to--but that was different than knowing a villain personally. That was one hell of a loss of assets.
Yet for her safety, and for Kai's sake, Elena couldn't fault her at all.
"Just don't become one of those crazy helicopter moms out of boredom, alright?" She smirked, voice full of teasing once more, covering up the argument going on in her head. "If you start posting sappy quotes about how motherhood is the meaning of life or something, I'm going to personally come over and delete all your social media."
Elena stepped into the shop she'd gestured to with Hanako not too far behind her, eyes scanning the building for the coats that had been in the window. It was a nice little boutique that smelled like pumped-in "pure oxygen" and perfume samples. Not bad, but not cheap. Yuck. When she spotted the coat rack in question she went over and started checking for what she assumed to be Hanako's size and a color that suited her. "White, beige, brown, black...bah, estos son esos colores 'seguros'. Mizu-chan do you have a preference? White stands out more with your hair, but I'm biased."

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ She bit her lip, okay she had ruined it, desperate did not look nice on her face either way. She looked away, "Sorry." Was all she could say. Ha, how interesting, normally she would never have apologized for her sharp tongue or her anything really. Now she just wanted everything to run smoothly, she wasn't sure what to think of everything anymore. She was worn out and tired of her own brain, the circles, the fear. The fear she would screw up again, the fear he screwed up again wasn't even there. She was very careful with the specific things now, that mistake would not come again, she was sure of it, but what kind of thing would she herself do next. She looked away from her friend, hoping that she would be spared even if it might be a good thing to be vigilant. She did not want to fight every day, fight her fear and potential anxiety. She did not want to talk about it, this was it, it was the core of her life now and it would maybe always be. But that was okay, because it meant he was by her side. She looked up when Elena spoke about something else, it wasn't that bad that she did. She didn't say anything about it but nodded, what to say, the first thing in her mind was to say it wasn't planned but look at her little one, she could not even leave him at home, "It's not bad to be the cool aunt. Spy a little on what other parents do." It would be nice if she could have done that, but with not much friends, and childless friends and no parents for advice, it was a tough life to work on. She probably asked so much from the nurses and doctors at the hospital, it was a miracle that she was not kicked out at that point. When Elena asked about her job, she said she quit. "It was too dangerous, when just random people walk into your building to shoot Lady Scandal, even if they did not know it was me-" She turned to look at Elena, eh shit, "Me-my boss." But too late, she took a deep breath and stared at Kai, "I can't do that to him. I got a few new things I want to try but regulations are slow, G is a security guard and at the moment we manage, we are working on something bigger, but it has to work out else I am losing money left and right. I thought..." She took a deep breath, she should have maybe spoke to someone else instead of dropping her idea, rolling with it, loving it and not asking others, "I thought that running a gym would be a smart thing. He could do the informative sporty part, I could do the necessary accountancy things and so on." There was only hope it would pick up a little later, with the house and potential incoming bills it might be a little more than tight. She liked it though and if it would go like she had in mind, it would go fine. Time could only tell. "I do have some articles left and I do plan to freelance, but basically for heroes and vigilantes. I decided not to try-try interviews with villains like that anymore." She had dreams but she had dreams to put those people behind bars or interview them when they were behind bars, nothing previous anymore. It would be too dangerous, right? She snickered though with Elena's next comments and nodded, "I wouldn't dare, rather keep him for myself than all social media things." That meant she had not looked on her social media for a long while. "He is my everything though, is that allowed?" She grinned at her friend before paying attention to the shop. She looked at the jackets and frowned, she had a white coat but that was more of a thing for indoors, she did like the contrast, "Don't they have something like red?" Why would she actually still want flashy colours if she wasn't on the market, "I will try on the white one for you." She winked because she herself was rather curious too.

- I always say shopping is cheaper than a psychiatrist -
Elena wasn't going to change her opinion, no matter how much Hanako looked and sounded like a kicked puppy. At the same time she wasn't going to let this little bump ruin the rest of the day. She gave Hanako's shoulder a gentle pat-pat. Giving words to this whole mess was impossible. Hopefully some physical affection would help.
Despite how awkward Elena still was about that.
She did have to snort, loudly, at Hanako's advice. Spy on what the other parents do? Well, she only had Hanako and one other example to go on. And copying Kohaku's fathering skills...HAH. "Trust me, you do not want me to emulate my other friend's parenting skills. I swear I've pulled that pequeña pepita mala out of more trouble than her daddies know she gets into. And being a narc to a fourteen-year-old can be fun sometimes but when I do it all the time I'm going to end up an uncool aunt." She gave Hanako a side-glance an a smirk. "Cariña, I invited you out through the chat. Unless 'your boss' decided to send you in her stead, I think the gig is way past up."
So Hanako had decided to go from interviewing villains to running a gym. Not bad. Elena could definitely frequent a gym a lot easier than she could help the woman with anything involving journalism. And hey, she'd been looking to find somewhere she could train without worrying about melting something and getting in trouble. If she knew the owners then she could just pay for any damages done. It also would be a great excuse to stop by and bother Hanako and the baby whenever she pleased.
"Send me the address! I need to start lifting again now that my hands are healed up. Now I can't promise nothing made of rubber won't melt a little if I'm trying to hard but, uh, I can pay for that if it gets bad. And I can pass the word to my friend in uni. He might be able to get more people interested?" Tetsuya himself was too focused on books to be interested in a gym, but he had to know somebody who would be. Or maybe he could just put up a flyer somewhere on campus for her as a favor.
"All to yourself, huh? Hmm. I guess the occasional picture in my DMs wouldn't be the worst thing," Elena teased, "So long as they're super cute. Think he can do that?"
Pushing aside another few jackets Elena pouted and shook her head. "No reds for this style I'm afraid. There's these ones though," she pointed to a rack over to a slightly longer coat with buttons in the front rather than a zipper--a trade off of warmer legs but less protection up front. It was still very cute with the red velvet and big shiny black buttons. Elena took one of the white coats off her rack then snagged the same-sized red one as well. "Here, try them both on. Which feels better for you?" Elena held up one hanger then the other, trying to imagine them on Hanako before she tried them. "You've got those cooler undertones going on that makes the red really pop."
With the coats handed off for a second Elena turned back to the racks. The ones she picked for Hanako were nice, but none of the ones here were really her style or color. She liked warmer reds and earthy greens for autumn. Things that looked super cozy and sweet on the outside so she could balance them out with something crazy like short skirts and thigh-highs underneath it. "Oh, hey, there's a matching hat for the red one, if you're a hat person. You know what? Maybe a red or white scarf to go with whichever one you like most, to get a little more contrast in there...muy bonito." wC: 659, Hanako Hajimari , I cannot promise these outfits won't be drawn at some point >w>

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ The shoulder pat was something, she had ruined it herself but maybe it wasn't so bad to have someone being there to look out for her, little did Hanako know the confessions G still wanted to give her but at this point, she believed it was going fine. Yes she was afraid, yes there were moments of doubt and panic that it would go right but that was combined with a past that made her anxious and afraid of repeat without her actually knowing that she was doing this. All with all, she was just being human.
When they spoke about more things she looked up surprised when Elena snorted, was it such a bad thing to say? "Teenage rebellion?" She asked, but to be fair, she really wished there was someone in her circle of friends or whatsoever whom she could ask any advice. Maybe one day, she would dared to ask her aunt, for now it felt too weird, Aunt Sayaka had already done so much for her and she wasn't sure if she ever paid her in a way or even said thank you. Today she would not think about that, she would talk about protecting Kai and why her job was too bad and she made a mistake in saying something. She looked at her hands that were pushing the stroller, "I am okay with that you know it, I just have to be careful to not tell anyone else." That was a fourth on her list, because she had been so utterly careless to go to Fix about her glasses, yet he did not know her real name, it was a start, but she had to be very careful in this world of games, villains vs vigilantes vs pro-heroes, and she wasn't either of them but in the middle of it anyway. But for now she should put that behind her and continue to explain to Elena why and what she was doing now.She went to grab her bag and handed Elena the business card, "I can still send it to you as a text, don't worry." She smiled, but she had business cards made so she better use them and she frowned, "What happened with your hands?" But the conversation continued and she nodded, she was fine with Elena around, that would even be more fun and if that cost them a little rubber once in a while, why would she make a big deal out of that. "Oh yes please, we could use some more advertisement, I am still working on that." Hanako laughed when they spoke about her social media use or potential use and said she would rather keep Kai all for herself and she turned to look at her little baby who still tried to get the gift Elena gave him but continued to fall asleep halfway, wake up a little and try fiercely again. "I am sure he can." She smiled and had for a few seconds only attention for her little one. Before she finally paid attention to the colours of the coats that Elena pointed out. Hanako liked the idea of red but it wasn't there. She looked at Elena who held the jackets in front of her to see what fit best and she smiled and shook her head lightly, "Isn't that the idea?" She took the red one from her friend to try it first. She walked to a mirror and checked herself out, maybe too much popping? Should she even think about trying to get attention like that on the streets? "I am not a hat person but scarfs are great so yes to those." She shrugged off the red one and tried on the white one, it was a difficult choice because the designs were different and she liked them both, should she get them both or was that her being too much of a rich kid then?

- I always say shopping is cheaper than a psychiatrist -
"Something like that. She wants to be a hero, and the kid is strong, but she's all natural talent and very little brains. I love her to pieces," Elena sighed, cupping her face with one hand. Yui's antics were going to put one of them--or one of her "fathers"--into an early grave. "But one of these days she's going to get expelled..."
Would that be the worst thing in the world? If Yui was expelled from UA, there would be less reasons for Elena and Kohaku to be careful with the whole vigilante thing with her around--not that she still wasn't walking on eggshells around Toma, but still. Yet she wanted better for her little sorta-niece than to be a vigilante like herself. She had the chance to really be a hero, to be "good" from the get-go. A little narcissism and a bad case of a god-complex wasn't going to get her kicked out for real, right?...right?
Elena reached out to take the business card, then winced as Hanako managed to pick up on the one part of that sentence she had hoped would fly over her head. She raised her hands to look at her fingers like she were examining her nails--the only spot of color on her that was neither white or gold, but instead a gorgeous shade of green; the skin on her fingers matched perfectly with that of her hands. You'd never be able to tell that only one season ago they'd been vaporized off of her. "I, uh, well," she stalled, trying to think of a way to make this sound casual without sounding insane, "I lost five of my fingers right at the end of spring? I mean, they grew back, obviously, that's one of the things my quirk does. But I still took some time off the weight-lifting and punching over the summer to make sure the nerves recovered."
"I swear I don't go losing limbs on a regular basis, it was just this one fight. And we won so it's fine. I mean it wasn't at the time and still isn't to some degree but..."
Elena groaned quietly and raised her hand to bump her knuckles against her skull.
"...alright, brain isn't working with me to make this sound good, but I am alright."
Hanako went to try to look in the mirror, and Elena pulled back to stand next to Kai's bassinet and observe. It was slightly difficult to keep her eyes on Hanako to help with fashion choices when he was being so darn adorable. Little raisin baby. At Hanako's request, though, she did snag two of the scarfs and fling the red one--as Hanako was trying on the white coat at the moment--over the space between them. It landed squarely on Hanako's shoulder. Elena snickered. "Honestly, I'm feeling the red. The buttons and your hair don't stand out as much, but the black hair and white skin and red coat look stellar together. Like Blancanieves. Snow White?" She took a second to move the little teething-rattle-ring closer to Kai, just enough so he could touch it before he gave up. Odds were his grabbing skill wasn't developed yet. Oh well.
"Hair black as ebony, skin white as snow. All you need's a coat as red as blood!"

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ Hanako wasn't sure what to say, a chuckle escaped her when Elena described her, natural talent, little brains and how she loved her and she looked up at her friend and smiled, "I see you have a weakness for her." She grinned and listened on to what Elena said, that one of these days she was going to get expelled and her smile dropped. "She is in Yuuei?" Because she wondered, considering natural talent or maybe arts school or so, she did not know much about schools yet, she did not orientated, but Yuuei was the big thing right now and it might be disappointing to be getting expelled, "Is there no way to convince her that if she wants to make use of that power that it would be better to have a license?" Especially because Elena herself wanted one, the illegal side of the job wasn't the best one and she was sure that Elena would be able to express that opinion to the child but little brains, might mean that she just could not wait to be in action, to do something, the vigilante side calling her and Hanako wasn't sure what to think of that, especially because she had not met the girl but she looked at her own little baby. The girls were in Yuuei so he had a good example if he wanted to become a hero, but his dad was a vigilante, she wasn't sure what he would become and if he wanted to work with his quirk, if he even got a quirk, but as long as it would be a sort of save and hopefully legal. Maybe that's what Elena wanted for the girl too.
Hanako handed the business card to Elena, slightly excited that her friend was looking for a gym but she did not miss what Elena said before and within a second did also not hesitate to ask. She looked a little forward, a little worried and almost wanted to say that Elena did not have to tell her if that did not make her comfortable, but she stalled that, she wanted her curiosity to be answered and thus it took the better hand of her. But she did not expect what Elena said and she gone from looking in Elena's eyes to look at her fingers, but she counted ten, how did she mean lose five fingers. They grew back!? Quirkers, she would almost eyeroll out of jealousy but she didn't. "Well at least they grew back, that is the silver lining to hold on to." Maybe Nimue did have an influence on her but she gave a wry smile to Elena, surely it could not have been fun at that time, and maybe still not when you thought back about it but yea, she won, that was a good outcome, so the thoughts should be lined with at least a little positive thoughts.
She wanted Elena her opinion but as she turned away from the mirror her friend was paying attention to her son and that only made her smile more and forgive Elena for being distracted. "Snow white?" She turned to look back in the mirror, hm, that wasn't so crazy. The colours for that were based on something too, "I still must have some red lipstick." But no harm in buying a new one, she moved her hips in front of the mirror, trying to see from other angles, "Alright, well that went well, I take it." She said as she turned back to Elena, she valued her opinion and she needed a coat, wait, yea she did.

- I always say shopping is cheaper than a psychiatrist -
Elena nodded to both of Hanako's questions, completely unashamed of being called-out on her soft spot for Yui. It didn't bother her that her favorite niece (she could get away with that, since Kai was a boy!) in the world was a bratty half-pint who was as smart as a rock and had an ego thrice her size. She'd grow out of it eventually, just like Elena herself had. Wait, had she grown out of it? She was still a vigilante.
"I mean, we're trying. I'm trying. I don't know what her fathers think about it," she looked down at her feet for a moment. Toma had to be pushing her towards the legal path since it was the one he'd fought so hard to achieve himself, but Kohaku? He was a good friend and good enough dad, but not the worlds best role-model. "But she sees me and the others fighting crime now and doing good now, and, yeah, it's super hypocritical of us telling her to sit down and wait, but I get where she's coming from. I try to keep her out of it. I try to keep most people out of it, even if I know they--"
Elena bit her tongue.
"...incluso si sé que ya están involucrados. Como tú." The end of that sentence came out much quieter. She just couldn't think of a way to say it aloud, say it right, and not need to explain it. She wasn't being selfish, right? Hanako said herself that she had put the dangerous parts of her job behind her for Kai's sake. She'd understand why Elena wanted to do the same. But Elena still couldn't figure out how to say it without it coming out as condescending or dismissive. It wasn't like she didn't think Hanako was strong enough, quirk or no quirk. She and Tetsuya had had this fight so often...
"Just. Let's drop this for now, okay? It's going to give me a headache."
Porque ser evasivo solo mejorará esto?
Cállate, cerebro.
While Hanako continued to turn and strut in the mirror Elena took her phone out briefly and typed out a few texts. After a second, she turned herself around half-way, struck a brief pose of her own, and snapped a picture before finishing typing. She then shoved it back into her purse. She was grinning even wider than before. "Great choice! You're going to look awesome. Do you think they make dwarf costumes for babies this small?" Elena snickered, joking for the most part. "That's one purchase down. Now. This place is more prim than my usual style, but maybe you can help me find something a little more," she gestured to her outfit, "Stand-out-ey? I usually go for more punk than even this. But, hey, my closet is as eccentric as I am."
She paused as she glanced at a rack down the tiled walk-way between sections. Then, with a wide grin, waved Hanako in that direction. It was farther from the actual winter and autumn coats section, but for just a second it was extremely relevant. Elena returned with a black apron with ridiculously fancy white font across the chest.
It read: "mommin' LIKE A BOSS".
"Also, yay or nay on this for a follow-up purchase?"

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ Interesting how much her world was surrounded by Yuuei, she wasn't even sure if it really did bother her or not at all. For a girl who always wanted a quirk it was quite a smack in the face, she still had a sort of disgust for her own incapability of having a quirk. There were so many great things out there and look at her, being just... human. Just Hanako and she wasn't always convinced that was a good thing. Not entirely convinced she was doing well, her obsession with the Gossip side of the press, her now obsession with her son, there was nothing she could do perfectly well, that was a thing that was clear for sure. Maybe she should just give up on all that. It would not change a single thing and besides, spacing out in the middle of a conversation was rude.
She had again, like their first meeting, so many questions about a private situation. Elena had told her that she would want to prefer a license for heroism herself but had not been able to get one, which was not as easy as Hanako always thought it was but now she was simply flabbergasted that Elena called them fighting and the girl not, hypocritical. "Is it? She is a child?" That was an assumption considering Yuuei it was an easy one. "Sorry?" She did not get the complete Spanish sentence, wasn't tu, you? She looked a bit puzzled and maybe her confusion made her look mean as she was trying to puzzle the words she knew, "Is it something I did?" Because she did not want to have another reprimanding speech about Lady Scandal, G already did and maybe Hanako still wasn't over that. She had had so many plans and sure Kai was there now and she would give all her devotion and attention to him but if she could make the world a little bit safer for her little pumpkin, than she would.
She gave a wry smile to her friend who asked to drop the conversation, surely Hanako's Lady Scandal side wanted to know more but she wanted Elena as a friend and well you respect your friend's decision. "Sure." So she turned to her reflection again. She had not noticed the selfie Elena took and she would in general not comment on texting as she had often been doing that before. "I am not surprised if they did." She said, shrugging off the coat and putting it back on the coat hanger, she would take it, sometimes she was allowed to buy stuff for herself, especially now her size was different. Hanako turned to Elena and nodded, "Shame there is no neon-green." She said teasing and she looked around the coats, not watching much further into the shop but they had no daring colours unless you counted the red and maybe for Elena that was just calm. Before she could look up and suggest another store, Elena had found something else. She took the stroller with her, but Kai was distracted enough and Hanako shook her head as she tried to stifle her giggle, "That surely fits my other apron." She had one that said: I kiss better than I cook. Which was hopefully damn accurate. She wanted to check the price tag but decided that no matter what she would take it anyway. "Let's take it." She looked around more and looked at Elena, "How about we go to a different store?" She did not see anything that she would link to Elena and thus took the apron and coat to the register and paid for it easily with her card. The double use of the stroller was that she could put the bag that she got with the purchase in the little basket underneath it, which also held the baby bag with necessary stuff, for now one or two more bags would fit in there, depending on how big they would be.
