The sky was a bright, clear blue over the Ochi Orphanage. It was early in the morning, enough that a brisk breeze was still sweeping through the neighbourhood, and the sun was only just peaking between the buildings. Every time the group passed an alleyway, for just a moment Wagyu would step out of the shade and the temperature would, to him, raise about 10 degrees.
The students wouldn’t notice any of this, as Wagyu’s massive frame was more than large enough to keep them completely in shadow every time. The sunlight didn’t bother him all too much either; he was too consumed in his own thoughts, putting together a plan for his students for the day.
The way he saw it, a hero has a lot more to do than simply fight villains and rescue civilians from danger. They need to be aware of the world around them, not just literally but also on a larger scale; how any laws that would affect them are changing, what public opinion says about their actions, and, most importantly, taking care of the disadvantaged and downtrodden. He was all too aware that the term ‘villain’ was applied just as much to actual villains as it was those who simply had no way to get by besides a life of crime, and figured it only made sense to try and prevent the latter from needing to resort to those lengths beforehand.
So that was the first thing he’d have his students do. He didn’t know much of what was being taught at U.A., being far too busy to so much as drop in to look, but whether or not they’d done something like this prior he still felt it’d be a good learning experience for all three. Plus, it’d do a lot of good for the orphans, to see that mutants like themselves could help make the world a better place.
They reached the doors of the orphanage before too long, and the moment they began to creak open Wagyu could hear chatter from inside. Mostly the orphans talking excitedly about the day to come, for they’d already been informed Wagyu was bringing guests, and Kimiko trying to make her voice heard over the din, asking them to behave.
“Big bro Wagyu!” A collective shout came the moment he stepped in, as three of the kids rushed forward to hug him. The faster of the three might as well have appeared quirkless, were it not for the boar head in place of a normal one; the second was mutated to resemble some sort of blue lizard, his face adorned with a yellow V; and the last was also reptilian in appearance, though he seemed to lack arms entirely and simply snuggled up to Wagyu with his head.
Sitting on the coach on the inside was a furry boy resembling a rabbit, his giant ears flopped down on either side of him, and next to him a young boy with giant angelic wings that were larger than he is. The rabbit-boy gave a small nod to Wagyu, while the angel boy waved so hard he moved his whole body with the motion. And, finally, there was Kimiko, the only quirkless person in the whole room. She was older than Wagyu, about 27, though she seemed far too tired for her age. Despite that, though, she certainly looked happy anyway.
She was wheeling a sea slug-like girl into the room in a wheelchair, and when she noticed the students, her eyes lit up and she gave them a small wave.
“Oh, so those are the U.A. students, right?” She said, briefly leaving the side of the sea slug girl to welcome the newcomers. For just a moment after she moved, there was a blue shape resembling a bird, but it immediately shot behind the wheelchair. “Well, you look like heroes already, as far as I’m concerned.” Then she bowed. “I’m sorry for all the bother, I’m sure all your classmates are out doing something much cooler than this, but Wagy-”
Wagyu stopped her with a hand on her shoulder. “Kimiko, it’s fine. If I made them spend all their internship training for battles, they wouldn’t be at all ready for actual hero work.” He patted her a couple times, and she stood up straight, scratching her neck.
“Yeah, I know, I know…” She sighed, but her smile returned as she spoke. “Anyway, uh, Wagyu’s already told you guys why you’re here, yeah?”

King Taurus was a big man. Momoko usually didn't pay much attention to exactly how tall people were, but the size of their instructor caught the eye of the one who always had to gaze upwards. He towered even over Tsuji, who Momoko had already assumed to be very tall himself, as well as Yusuke, who was being dwarfed by both. A mountain of a man who had been designated as their instructor for the internship. Truth to be told, despite being one of the heroes who Momoko had failed to pay attention to as far as the news were concerned, he had a firm aura of a hero to him.
Mind you, this didn't redeem what had been planned for today. They had been briefed about today, and Momoko was still mulling it all over as she scuttled alongside the two other students.
They arrived at an unfamiliar building which seemed to be their destination. Momoko had a hard time seeing inside at first, but this changed quickly as she jumped swiftly onto the nearest person's (Tsuji's) shoulder as some of the kids started their rush towards Wagyu, forgetting to ask for permission or to apologize for being so sudden. The hood of her costume was down, so it became obvious to anyone paying attention to her that Momoko's gaze was very intently focused on the children. It was less panic and more just overall caution on her part, albeit this demeanor eased once she noticed the staff member and the girl she was wheeling.
"Wagyu’s already told you guys why you’re here, yeah?” "...yes!" Momoko raised her hand as she answered from her new vantage point. "Helping around here, right? I'm Mozuku Momoko, codename Shrike! If there's something that needs to be fixed around here, do let me know!"

It was the first day of internships – King Taurus had an interesting idea for what they would do first, which Tsuji respected as being different from what someone like Geist was doing. They were to go help out at an orphanage, something which he could see as very beneficial, especially with relating to someone like Kouta, but also to help people in ways that were not just brute forcing villains to stop hurting innocent people. The world of a hero isn't just black and white, Tsuji knew this well from people like Brandon. As he followed the pro hero into the orphanage, they were met with a bustling crowd of kids, all trying to hug the huge, hulking minotaur man. A manotaur, maybe?
As he felt another one of the students participating, Momoko, go up onto his shoulder and speak, he agreed with her. “Uh, yeah! We're here to help out with stuff, and hang out with all these little guys!” he said, looking at all the children. He attempted a bow, but remembered the small girl on his shoulder, and decided to against it. From what he could tell, all of them had mutations, some of which were pretty out there, but they were still cool. Why any good parent would want to be rid of them was anyone's guess, they seemed to be prospering young things with a lot of joy in their hearts, especially when King Taurus, or Wagyu, was there. Knowing a pro hero's real name was kind of odd, it made Tsuji feel a little bit more proud that he was with someone he could really get to know who was in such high regard. “Oh, uh, my apologies. My name's Tsuji, Tsuji Kuma!” he said, offering a thumbs up to the woman running the place. “If there's anything we can do, don't hesitate to ask and we'll do it!” If enthusiasm was a light, Tsuji could have been the sun at this moment. He was ready to take on any sort of task given to him, trying to make friends with everyone in the process. Being a hero was all about helping people with their issues, so what better way to learn to be a proper one than helping others who were, in all honesty, less fortunate? Amped up and ready, Tsuji eagerly awaited for something to do, so he could continue on his path to being a hero for all.

So, why did he accept the internship thing again? Well, it wasn't to get hero prectice. No, he had lotsa that due to the people he knew. He had done vigilante things once or twice. There was no need for training ever since Nightmare was born. There was another, much much much more important reason he was there. A reason that was far above petty simulations of hero work. It was ACTUAL hero work. King Taurus. Tenth place in the popularity polls. A beast of a man. Real name: Wagyu Utari. Yusaku had cross referenced thousands upon thousands of surnames and family trees in search of something that would bring him closer to find out more about Goro. Goro and King Taurus were not related by blood, but inexplicably linked by surname. That was, however, until the Hero had given Yusaku the key. The link between the hero and the primary target of his operation was the place he was standing in right then and there. That orphanage. According to his research, it was custom to register orphans with a predetermined surname if unsure of the target's origins. That said, while the real origins were a mystery, Goro had told him two valuable pieces of information. Yusaku knew bat boy had a biological father and he was part of the extremist quirker group known as Gifted Underground. A top secret terrorist organizaion, apparently active in Japan as well through Goro and other unknowns. He was there to help people and so he would do. He would put everything on the line. That orphanage was the key. Yusaku was sure, he had studied protocols. If someone was up for adoption, then records of the adoption would have to be registered and archived. Said archived data is usually found in paper form, but can also be digitally archived. If that was the case, Yusaku's job would be way more difficult. He could hack into the network, but that would leave a trace. For this to work, it had to be perfectly executed. No witnesses. No traces. He needed to find those archives. Whoever had adopted Goro, real name or not, had been logged into those archives. There could also be intel on Goro's real father. Perhaps if he could retrieve some info on that side, the bat boy would get a little happier the next time they met well after the internships. Today was the day. He needed to find those logs at all costs. Those names on Goro's adoption file, real or not, would constitute a lead. He would be able to source them in the Deep Web for sure or find other ways to research them. That would mean he'd finally find a hole inside GU. Once inside the network, he would be able to devise a plan to pull Goro out of that place. To think one's life can be made so miserable. They were using him. They had brainwashed him with those nonesensical things about quirk superiority. They had brought him to take other lives. Just like Yusaku himself for most people, Goro was just a tool for them. A pawn, easily replaceable. Yet he refused to rat them out, possibly because under threat of torture or murder as retaliation. He should try and keep his usual shy attitude up to avoid suspicion. He didn't care about the others or what they'd do, but he had to keep them into consideration. He needed to keep a tight alibi in case he needed to sneak around. "N-nice to meet you, Kimiko-san." He introduced himself with a shy bow as everyone made their introductions. "I'm Yusaku Izumi. Codename Cybrex. I...well...I'm not really good with kids, but I can always help with other things!" He said, looking hopeful. "I could clean the place around though. Or I could help rearrange the library or the archives, if you have one. Up to you." Yusaku's HUD flared to life. The game was on. Abraham Lincoln once said, 'Give me 6 hours to chop a tree down, and I will spend 4 sharpening the axe'. He knew the importance of preperation. By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail. Yusaku had his plan. He had his priorities. Time to put the boat in the water and see if it would float.

As soon as Kimiko’s attention was turned to the students, the orphans followed her lead. The yellow lizard boy hopped up and down in excitement as he noticed Momoko. “Woah!” He gasped. “H-hey! I’m Rocky!” With his mouth as open as it was, Momoko most likely got an eyeful of razor-sharp teeth, and bright, curious eyes. The boar-headed boy grabbed him by the collar and pulled him back a couple feet, shaking his head.
“Rocky, c’mon, give ‘em some space…” He lightly bonked Rocky on the head, “..my name’s Jim.” He stuck his hand out to Tsuji, shaking slightly. “...so, you’re not a bear with a Quirk, right? I heard there was one at U.A. but…” With that, he kind of trailed off, his eyes flicking down to his feet.
The last kid already there, the blue lizard, poked Yusaku on the arm with one of his claws. “Hey, are you a robot or is that a carapace or something?” His voice didn’t have a hint of mockery in it, just genuine innocent interest. “My name’s Tetsuhiko! I saw you in the sports festival and you were really super cool! You’re like some kinda mecha or something, right? Can I pilot you?”
The rest of the kids took turns introducing themselves. The rabbit spoke first, raising a hand lazily. “‘m Katsuragi.” Next, the angel. “Kirihiko!” He yelled his name excitedly, and Katsuragi shushed him. The sea slug girl went last. “I’m Jennifer. It’s nice to meet you three.”
Kimiko let the kids talk, then she responded to the students. “Well, it seems King Taurus already introduced me, but, I’m Kimiko Ochi, the administrator of the orphanage. I also teach some of the kids here, the ones that can’t attend public schools for various reasons. It’s a pleasure to meet all three of you.” She bowed again.
“Well, Shrike, we do actually have some toys that need mending, and there is some stuff you could help clean, Cybrex, but, before that,” she motioned to the rest of the kids in the room, “Everyone here wants to go to U.A. when they get older, like you three, so I thought it’d be good for all of them to hear what it’s like there. What a normal day at the school is like, maybe some of the good and bad experiences you’ve had while there, y’know.”
Meanwhile, as everyone else was talking to Kimiko, Wagyu’s attention turned to Yusaku. The boy had seemed a little distracted on the way here, and he was a little concerned. Was it just anxiety from working with an actual Pro Hero for the first time and all the responsibilities and expectations that come with that, or was it maybe something else? He’d have to talk to him one on one a little later, to make sure he was okay.
“We won’t have you all speak to the whole orphanage at once,” He continued off Kimiko’s words, “Heroes have to worry about a lot, but no point in throwing you all in at the deep end. There’s plenty of time between now and your graduation for you to get more experience with teaching kids, should any of you wish to teach at U.A. when you’re a full hero.”
Kimiko quickly shut the door behind the group. She ushered the kids over to the couch and pushed Jennifer a little closer to the others, while Wagyu just stepped to the side to give his students some space. Behind the wheelchair, the blue and pink blur returned, dashing instead just behind the couch’s armrest so the newcomers could only just see a bit of pink fluff peeking up.
All the children rushed to the couch immediately. Rocky leaped in between Katsuragi and Kirihiko, almost knocking them both into the air with the force, and Tetsuhiko scrambled up on Katsuragi’s right, to his annoyance. Jim, with the couch now full, sat on the floor in front of them, his legs crossed and his head forward so that his knees were pushed almost to his shoulders.

Momoko unfortunately regressed back to the silent, intense staring as one of the mutant kids became curious of her. Momoko wasn't scared of being bitten. Normal kids, or at least the ones at this age, usually didn't bite people out of the blue... usually. Some kid deciding to play too rough was the overall main concern, but Momoko had her suit as well as enough experience that she should, by all rights, be able to outmaneuver a child. And Momoko knew all of this. It was impossible for her to not to, it was what was playing on repeat inside of her head until one of the other kids came to reign the first one in. Thankfully Tsuji was being considerate of Momoko's current vantage point. He'd have to bear with it until things calmed down and everyone had gathered by the couch, at which point she dared to hop down onto a nearby table. She was also the first one to take up Kimiko's inquiry.
*Ahem* "Hello everyone! Like I said before, my name is Mozuku Momoko. I am the vice-president of the 2nd year Support Class. Our class focuses more on the non-combat side of things, but we do participate in the exercises all the same. Currently my own focal point is item creation. In fact, I recently finished this suit." Momoko lifted the cloak with her hand to give a better look at the black bodysuit underneath, along with the tools that she was carrying with her. "It's sturdier than it looks. Useful for someone like me... or anyone, really. Ahaha." "Damnit." And her speech had been off to such a good start, too. Now it was reaching the point where she couldn't avoid the subject of her own daily life. It was always so awkward to talk about compared to more interesting things like technology. She sighed and continued.
"Well... I live at the dorms and don't leave the school area except for special occasions out of convenience. It leaves a lot of time to focus on projects, and thankfully there's other students who do the same, so it's not that bad." "As for the bad... when I had transferred, there was one time when a student ran into me in the hallway. It wasn't serious, but I did visit infirmary and had to watch my step for the next few weeks... Ah, but it hasn't happened again! In fact, we now have a small railing in the hallway that I can use to avoid things like that." Momoko had been worried that going into that incident might have been a bad idea as she was already saying it, but it seemed that she was lucky enough to stumble upon an appropriate ending sentiment. "But at the end of the day.. our year is the first one. The school adapted to me quickly, so by the time when you guys are old enough to apply, those kinds of issues shouldn't happen anymore."
Having run out of topic threads, Momoko gave a small bow and gestured for one of the other two to step in.

The kids were very energetic, as they jumped to greet everyone individually, Tsuji taking the hand of the boy called Jim and shaking it with a lighter grip than usual. With Kimiko's idea, he nodded in agreement, giving them an idea of life at U.A would be paramount in them deciding whether or not they wanted to be heroes, as well as a brighter future for all of them! After listening to Momoko's explanation of her experiences, she gestured for someone else to take the floor, which Tsuji gladly stepped up to.
“Yo! I'm Tsuji, Tsuji Kuma! I'm in class 2-A, and a part of the school's art club, though I wouldn't consider myself as good as the others in there, ha!” he said, putting his arms behind his neck, giving a big smirk on his face in the process. “As a student in the hero course, I'm learning how to be the best hero possible – with plenty of physical training! As well as the writing part, but I'm not super good at it, truth be told.” Tsuji was much more suited to a combat lesson rather than a theory one, as he wasn't really the big brain of the class. “As you can see though, I look pretty strong right? Being a bear has its perks! Don't get it confused though – I got a mutation quirk! Deep down I'm still a normal guy, I just like to eat pinecones sometimes-” He was rambling yet again. Tsuji was meant to tell them about U.A life, not himself. He couldn't help it around new friends.
“Sorry, I got a bit sidetracked. In any case – I lived outside the school for a while, but now I've moved into the dorms, which are a great place to meet new friends! The school itself is really nice, too, super clean and cool-looking! You'd think it was some kind of sci-fi hangar for spaceships or something sometimes, y'know?” Trying to recount some more things about the school, had a moment of clarity before continuing. “Oh yeah, the school also holds special events sometimes, too! There was the sports festival a while ago, which I was actually in, along with Yusaku over there!” He pointed over to the black and green automaton. They seemed a bit out of it, but maybe all they needed was to explain their U.A life. “Speaking of which, hey Yusaku, why don't you come over and tell these cool kids about U.A? You've been there longer than I have, I think.”

Yusaku's reaction was almost instant and instinctive. As soon as he caught a glimpse of something moving towards him, his body reacted on its own. He had been so focused on his own schemes that he was forgetting to take notice of his proximity warnings.
Yusaku's body swayed fluidly to the side and one of his paws rose up to intercept and block the incoming assault, its conclusion being the harmless ping sound of empty metal.
Yusaku's tail lowered and his pointy ears splayed backward as he realized the situation. He looked at the lizard boy a little confused. Saw at the sport's festival? Well yeah it was broadcasted. Then again, why did that boi single him out and asked him to let him be a pilot? Tsuji was there too that day.
Yusaku finally realized something. Was that the first ever time he met a fan of him? When even did he manage to gain a fan? Well either way doo something, you're just blankly staring at the kiddo.
"S-sorry for that Tetsu. I uuuh...you know how to sneak up on people, I'll give you that. Eheh..." Thank the stars he was a robot and his lack of a mout of general facial features allowed him to somewhat mask his embarassment. He brought a paw up and knocked on his chest to show he was indeed hollow on the inside. "Indeed I am. Strong alone, stronger together. I can merge myself with other people to augment their speed or their strength in needed. You saw it when I was at the festival yeah?" He quickly changed subject. "People say the soft padding inside me are super comfy. So comfy that people like to sleep inside me. Or at the very least they seek to like cuddling up within my body." His mind flashed a few images of Miyu quickly hopping inside him and have him hug himself as she enjoyed the plushy warm space he could provide her.
Judging by the little guy's phisiology it would be highly unlikely he could pilot him. Yusaku simply wasn't designed for non humanoids. Still though, the robot did not want to break the guy's heart. As such, he kneeled down and placed one of his big paws on the kid's head.
"Sorry, little one, but big old Cybrex here is too low on charge for any piloting to be done today. Perhaps another time yeah?"
With that, he allowed Tsuji to steal the scene. Oddly enough, the bear was able to captivate kids way more than a cute robocat mascot could.

Yusaku caught Tetsuhiko’s claw without much issue, but the boy didn’t flinch. “Woah! You’re like, a ninja or something! You’re so fast!” He gasped. He grinned at Yusaku’s descriptions of his functions, but frowned a bit when he was told he couldn’t pilot him at the moment.
The frown didn’t last long, and he was right back to his usual chipper mood within seconds. “Oh, okay! Next time, then!” He said, flashing a V sign with his hand before dashing over to the couch.
All the kids’ eyes followed Momoko’s jump from Tsuji down to the table with rapt attention. As she gave her speech about what life was like at U.A., most remained transfixed, with the children giving a couple “ooh”s when she showed off her suit. When she was done, Rocky moved as if he were raising one of his non-existent arms.
“Uh, uh, what are the dorms like? Do they have a big football field for sparring like people say?” He yelled, maybe a little too loud for the size of the room. “A-and, uh, are the doors there automatic? I-I don’t want to have to bonk my head on them, yknow…”
After he was done, Jennifer raised her hand next. “Does U.A. have accommodation for students using wheelchairs? And… uh, do they have a swimming pool?” She looked a little embarrassed to even ask, and Kimiko rubbed her on the shoulder reassuringly.
Then, it was Tsuji’s turn. When he introduced himself, Kirihiko and Tetsuhiko both exclaimed “Yo!” in response. They didn’t interrupt him any more after that, waiting until he was done talking before they started asking questions again.
Meanwhile, Wagyu watched his students, and nodded to himself. They were doing a good job; talking about the good parts of being at U.A. while keeping the childrens’ attention, and even though Tsuji got a little sidetracked, it wasn’t a negative thing. Public speaking wasn’t the most important part of being a Pro Hero, but it certainly helped to be good at it.
Jim’s hand shot up first. “...I heard most’ve the teachers there are pros. Have you guys ever, like… fought one of them? Like, for training…” His eyes drifted over to Wagyu for a moment, before he looked back at Tsuji and Momoko. “Big bro Wagyu won’t let any of us try and fight him, he says we’d be too outmatched.”
Then, Katsuragi was up. He didn’t raise his arm, just spoke up when Jim was done. “How do they select their students anyway? They got an entry exam or something?”
Wagyu noted that, despite Tsuji’s prompting, Yusaku hadn’t spoken up. Now, Wagyu wasn’t one to push a socially-awkward student in front of a class and force them to give a speech, he knew that wasn’t the way to resolve that kind of problem. Admittedly, he was disappointed, but he wasn’t going to punish the boy for it. This was an entirely voluntary thing, so that would be rather unfair.

There was a faint warmth that passed through Momoko when the children admired her suit. It was most likely the first positive reaction she had garnered for it after its completion, or at the very least the first one that was made known to her. Sure, she couldn't start showing the actual functionalities for them to actually appreciate the work that went into making it... but it'd have to do for now. The time for field testing would have to wait until another day, after all.
But the children had more questions for her. The overly curious lizard boy from earlier, the one with the teeth and tuned-up vocal chords, had some questions about the dorms and facilities, as well as the doors. "Automatic doors sure would be convenient". Needlessly costly as well, especially on every door. The support class door had gotten some modifications for sure... but Momoko couldn't be certain about whether they had been implemented everywhere. The second question came from Jennifer. Much like the other kid, her questions had a hint of concern towards her own being.
"Ahaha! Don't worry! No automatic doors, but they're made to be opened by all kinds of people! Oh, and we have do have wheelchair access! I also use those slopes sometimes." "We do have a football field! I'm... not sure how big it is, but it seems big enough! Same for the pool!" "And the dorms are nice! There's ruckus sometimes, but a good roomie goes a long way!"
Momoko expressed all this like before, with energetic mannerisms and a smile on her face. But her eyes had stopped smiling, a detail lost on Momoko, and hopefully on others as well due to her small size. As Tsuji took over, she fell back into her own thoughts.
Lacking arms. Lacking legs. Being the wrong size as far as the society was concerned. Drastic physical oddities like that meant that you had to work hard to even gain the same starting point as others did when it came to hero training. This was the case even if your solution was to circumvent it like Momoko did, as opposed to overcompensation. "Wagyuu said that all of these kids want to go to the UA." Her eyes slowly went over the kids that had gathered in front of them. "I wonder how many can make it?" Momoko's train of thought was interrupted as her input was once again required by one of the kids.
"Ahaha! Well I only finished my suit just now, so we'll see!" The small girl answered briefly, rubbing the back of her neck, hoping that the hero course students would be able to answer better than the one who was covering their current lack of combat experience with sheer confidence.

After saying his piece, Tsuji had asked Yusaku if he wanted to talk – but alas, the robotic cat person was nowhere to be seen. At least, not from the young lad's perspective. King Taurus would probably do something about this, so he kept engaging with the young kids of Ochi Orphanage. Momoko made her responses to the questions of the orphans, done rather well, too. After she finished answering, Tsuji was prepared to answer some questions himself.
First was Jim, asking about pros and combat lessons. As of his current state at U.A, Tsuji hadn't really fought the teachers, just sort of engaged in big activities designed to test their skills as heroes. “Well, you're right: the teachers are all either retired or currently active pro heroes. I am aware that some definitely fight students for the sake of training, but not typically head-on. I myself haven't really had that opportunity, but I know a few people who might've!” As Jim looked towards his big bull brother, and mentioned him, Tsuji replied once more: “I suppose it's for the best, but if you go to U.A, I'm super sure you'll be able to train as hard as you want to, a lot of the teachers are open to most ideas, so a chance to have some fun is never a bad idea!”
Looking around for the next person, Tsuji's viewing was interrupted by Katsuragi, the little rabbit boy. In all honesty, Tsuji wasn't entirely sure how he actually got to go to U.A, as his parents mostly saw to applications and whatnot. There wasn't an exam as far as he could remember, and quite frankly he didn't really want to – the written papers of the school were far too hard, he was much more of a physical student. “I'm... not entirely sure how the school takes students, actually. If there's an exam, I might have forgotten about it, cause I'm not really the writing type! But one thing I do know, is that U.A can take anyone who has the heart and mind to be a real hero! Just do your best, believe as much as you can in yourself, and I'm sure they'd be more than happy to welcome any one of you to their arms!”

Momoko was doing well, answering all those questions the orphans threw at her. In fact, Wagyu himself was learning from her answers. He hadn’t really been on the U.A. grounds himself, so he was relieved to hear that they had such accommodations. With the wide variety of Quirks they would be taking in, it’d seem inconsiderate at best if they didn’t. Unfortunately, he didn’t notice Momoko’s shift in mood, due to their size difference. As far as he knew, she was fine.
Tsuji did equally as well. While he didn’t really know as much about what Jim had asked, Wagyu could tell he was doing his absolute best to answer anyway. Wagyu had actually looked into the application process for U.A., when Kouta had started trying to get in, and it honestly hadn’t seemed all that complicated. While Tsuji’s answer had been vague, it was acceptable.
And it seemed Yusaku didn’t really want to take part in answering their questions either. That was fine, he had a lot to do here that didn’t involve public speaking. Again, no point in forcing him to talk.
All the kids were satisfied with the answers they’d been given, besides Katsuragi. Even so, he didn’t bother to press further; he just pouted and turned away. The rest murmured between each other in excitement, before Kimiko eventually called their attention back.
“Okay, thank you Shrike, and thank you Tsuji. Now, there’s actually a lot of stuff I could use some help with, honestly. We… don’t really have much money, and most days I’m the only one taking care of everything. Wagyu helps out on the days he’s not busy, but most days, it’s just me. So I’ll be happy to have help with anything you three can help with.” Again, she bowed politely, to all three of them.
“Shrike, you mentioned you could fix toys, we do have quite a few in the playroom that are… well loved-”
Katsuragi cut in at that point. “She means Rocky liked to bite ‘em when he was younger.” Most of the other kids all turned to glare at him, Jennifer even shushed him. Kimiko just scratched the back of her head awkwardly and continued.
“Well, yeah, anyway, if you can help put the stuffing back in them and patch them back up, that’d certainly help. And, the childrens’ rooms often get really messy, some of them don’t clean up,” Kimiko’s normal polite tone raised a bit at this, and she stared pointedly at Katsuragi, then Tetsuhiko, and they both avoided her gaze awkwardly.
“I swear, I’ll do it tomorrow!” Tetsuhiko protested.
“I’d also appreciate some help with the cooking, y’know, there’s a lot of mouths to feed…” Kimiko trailed off in thought. Internally, she was going through the list of everything that needed to be doing, trying to think of anything else that they could help with without being trained for it.
As she was still searching for anything else, Wagyu got up and walked over to his students. “Tetsu’s birthday is coming up soon,” he whispered to all three of them, “If any of you have a free moment, come over to the other room so you can sign his birthday card. I’ll be helping Kimiko with the cooking, so please be on your best behaviour.” He was definitely acting a lot softer than he was during the trio’s usual patrolling, but he couldn’t help it. It was hard to remain stern around his family.

The first part had gone better than expected. And it had gone over fast as well, thankfully. As a vice-president, Momoko felt obligated to try and answer to the question to the best of her ability (at least when supervised like this), and that wouldn't have done wonders on her throat in the long run. Although... now there was that other thing...
Toys.
When Momoko had offered to fix things around the orphanage, toys weren't the first thing in her mind, although by all reasons they should have been. And true, the everyday tinkering that she had done in both the past and the present did often involve "toys", like her RC car. But they hadn't been "toys" to her ever since she started to learn how they work. Sure, she sometimes tinkered with them to make them more "fun" like faster and overall snazzier, but that was different! Completely different! "And what's the point of fixing them for kids that will just break them again?" "I'm on it!" Momoko chirped in response before asking for some small supplies from Kimiko and heading off to get her own task over with.
She would designate one of the corners of the playroom as her temporary workshop, and started off by inspecting and gathering the more damaged ones to it. The actual toys and more damaged plushies were carried or dragged, whereas the stuffed ones that seemed like they could handle it (regardless of their size or distance to the said corner) were tossed over there. She had a slightly grumpy expression on her face as she did so, a result of an almost instinctive response to being in a room full of children's toys at her age that she had zero interest in.
The resulting pile wasn't exceedingly large, but it would still obviously take a moment to sort through. With her needle, the provided thread and other tools on her suit, Momoko zoned in on her own ordeal with determination.

With question time sorted out, at least for the most part, Kimiko came and gave all three of the students some ideas of more things to do. Tsuji wasn't very good at mending things or cooking, his mum usually did stuff like that, but he could tidy up. “No problem, Miss Kimiko, I can totally clean up stuff!” he said, and began to move towards Tetsuhiko, getting on one knee and talking more directly to him. “So, Tetsuhiko, where's your room? Let's go and clean it up, it seems like you need it more than anyone else around here, huh?” The little lizard boy had been a little tardy in terms of a good room-cleaning, or at least it seemed that way. If he was to help out, it'd be a great way to make a friend, while doing some work in the process.
On their way, King Taurus gave the bear, as well as Momoko, a little tip. Ushering Tetsuhiko to continue so he would be out of earshot, Tsuji agreed to sign the birthday card, whispering to the hero; “Sure, I'll help him tidy up so you guys can sign it now, and I'll do it after we finish.” With that, he continued to follow the blue boy towards his room.
