It was evident that after her performance during the Music Night at the Fourth Corner something had changed within Elise. If humans could shine, then she was likely shining as brightly as the sun right now, no doubt something that was caused by the words spoken by her beloved Tetsuko. After the aforementioned performance, Elise insisted they would stay just long enough to cheer on Kenshin's act, upon which she would finally suggest they'd excuse themselves for the night.
Once outside it was still as clear, not just based on her expression but also her actions just how delighted Elise was. Her smile didn't seem to disappear, soft hums escaped her lips and with her acrobatic sense of balance it almost looked like she was performing a little dance in front of her iron-blooded knight. A hop, a skip, a turn, a twist, and then a bright smile into Tetsuko's direction. It was a wonder really how Elise could do all this without colliding into people, but it was clear that she felt an immense sense of happiness, to the point she didn't care about how silly she might had looked.
As their trip homeward to the Eisenberg residence took them into the Tokyo park, the girl's playful way of moving changed, suddenly darting back to Tetsuko and kissing her lips gently and after that gently wrapped her arms around the girl's own. It was clear Tokyo park was a place that had mixed memories for the two girls, but those negative thoughts and feelings seemed to be burning away to ashes in the wake of the feelings they felt right now for each other, now that everything became so much clearer.
"Tetsu~"
Elise called out to her lover as she released her grasp on the girl's arm and moved over toward a nearby bench, taking a seat and patting her lap lightly, as if to tell Tetsuko something. "hehe~ let's take a break for a bit~"

If Elise was shining like the sun, than Tetsuko truly felt like the moon. Basking in the Sun’s light, shining itself because it reflected that same light. Tetsuko’s Heart still felt uneasy after how sudden it all had been, how much she was still making sense of things, but it enjoyed the glow of light nonetheless. The glow of their hearts finally reaching one another, finally connecting from all the love they’d put in to this relationship.
After Kenshin’s performance, they found themselves walking along, departing from the music night, they continued basking in that glow. As Elise pranced around, gleeful and graceful, her stoic night watched and followed. Smiling softly, warmly, at her lovely princess. A stoic knight watched over her even now, and enjoyed the happiness she showed.
Walking calmly and contently through Tokyo park, memories came to the Shindou girl’s mind. Memories of how things had been once. How confusing, how grim... Just as the dark past reared it’s head, the shining future cake forth once again, Tetsu taken aback by Elise’s sudden kiss. Burning away the dark, painting a content smile on Tetsuko’s face as she kissed her lover. Taking her arm, they’d walk a bit more before coming across some benches, where Elise sat herself and prompted Tetsuko over for a break.
“Yeah, a break sounds nice...” Anything that let Tetsuko enjoy the warmth and light of her lover felt nice right then. Anything to make these precious moments last even longer. Seeing Elise pat her lap, Tetsu had an idea just how to relax.
With an assured stride, Tetsuko walked over to the bench, and then positioned herself so she was sitting along it sideways... Before leaning her back down and resting her head on Elise’s lap. A lap pillow, that let her gaze up warmly at her caring lover.
“Yeah. This break... Real nice.”

There was something about spending her time alongside her beloved Tetsuko that felt so magical. As they entered the park Elise felt the same sensation as her lover, and yet banished it so easily with just a single gesture, a sudden kiss that clearly had the same effect on Tetsuko. Her lips curved into a grin as she took a seat on the bench, the light patting of her lap clearly suggesting she wanted Tetsuko to do something, and of course her knight didn't disappoint. The way she took a seat along it sideways and leaned down, gently resting her head on her lap made Elise smile warmly at her lover, a hand gently lowering to brush Tetsuko's silverish hair.
"mhmm~ It is, especially when we spend it together." Elise mused softly, a content sigh escaping her lips while she closed her eyes for a moment, just savoring the feeling of her lover being so close to her. "It's a peculiar feeling..." Elise began, musing softly as she opened her eyes and gazed up ahead into the dimly lit park.
"In the past I thought I knew exactly just what love meant. What the difference between it and friendship was. It was confusing like it's something I can't really put in words."
She lowered her head gently, looking down longing at Tetsuko. "But deep inside I felt it. I know friendship, I have friends but those feelings for you are so much more intense. You're not just my best friend, you're also the one I love the most in this entire world, the one I happily and proudly call my lover."
Her cheeks flushed up lightly, her free hand gently raising to her cheek as she rubbed it lightly in a bashful gesture. "I thought in the past that what I wanted was just to be loved, but I can say with certainty that was not the case, I wanted to be loved by you. Even when your actions time over time showed just how much you cared about me, I still longed for that affirmation."
She giggled sheepishly as she continued with a smile starting to spread across her lips. "And then you said those magical words earlier, just to hear you say that made me feel like everything else faded away, that there was just us two in a world of bliss and happiness, as if no matter what happened, as long as we have each other, we'd be able to overcome it and continue enjoying this warmth together~ After all, we're the most happy at each other's side."
After stating those words Elise took a deep breath and started to hum in a melodious tone.
"Darling', make me happy lalala I love you~"
Grinning from ear to ear she gently lowered her free hand to Tetsuko's own, intertwining their fingers as she whispered tenderly. "Tetsu~ I love you, and that will never change."
It was clear that even if this park carried darker memories, they were being banished by the immense light they felt now.

It was an amazing view, Elise's beautiful face, framed by the flowing reddish hair, set against the starlit sky. With her head on Elise's lap, Tetsuko gazed upwards at her lover and the cosmos beyond her, yet as far as the ironblooded lass was concerned, the former was far, far more incredible. Her silvery hair stroked by the princess, it was a bit of turn on the usual things, Tetsuko feeling uniquely spoiled by the other girl. Yet, Tetsuko, who hated being spoiled or anything like that, nonetheless adored being able to have such grace bestowed upon her by the Germanic lass.
"Mhmm..." Tetsuko agreed that this warm feeling was a result of the time they spent together, her own eyes remaining upwards as her hands settled on her own stomach, her feet on the bench and knees up in a surprisingly comfortable position. She could've just closed her eyes and drifted off into a peaceful sleep, if she felt like it. Instead, Tetsuko enjoyed the musings of her lover, the soft voice's quiet thoughts.
Indeed, Elise was right, about how strange love was, about how strange it was to not know what one wanted from it... Tetsuko could certainly sympathize. Because only now, even if she'd heard them so many times before, did Elise's words on how much she loved Tetsuko really hit true. Only now did Tetsuko feel like she understood some of what love was. As Elise began blushing, Tetsuko smiled, raising a hand and brushing against her soft hair. "I'm... Happy at your side too. The me who never cared about how happy I was, is happy enough at your side to start caring, I feel..." Tetsuko admitted in bittersweet recollection, as Elise began humming that tune.
"If you asked me what love is, I still couldn't answer, y'know? I think that's where I got mixed up in the first place... Thinking there was an answer..." Tetsuko mused aloud as Elise hummed along. "Thinking it would be so easy... Or maybe not wanting to know... Either way, it's no answer you find..." Her fingers idly toyed with Elise's hair, lit by the moon and stars, all shining for her. "It's an answer that finds you." Hearing Elise sing the song again played the chords of Tetsuko's heart, as she was reminded of the very same melody that Elise had reached her with.
Intertwining her fingers with Elise's, hearing her lover proclaim her love, painted a smile most genuine onto Tetsuko's expression. "Hearing you say it now, it's so much different then before... I guess... Because I don't feel like I can't say it back..." Tetsuko gave bittersweet smile, that grew less bitter and more sweet as she talked on. "I'm not afraid to know my own heart, as long as you're by my side... I'm not afraid of the pain of the past, if you'll be with me in the future. I'm not afraid of losing it all, if I know I'll fight til the last before I lose you..."
She brought Elise's hand downward, pressing a gentle kiss against the back of it. "Because I love you, Elise..."
In the dark of night, hope often faded, yet now it was burning brighter than ever.
Such was the power of their bond.

It certainly was a reverse of the usual roles. It was no secret that among the two of them Tetsuko was the knight, and she was the princess and as such it was often Elise who ended up enjoying the feeling of being spoiled. Elise smiled tenderly, her fingers brushing along the silvery locks of her knight, the feeling of comfort that was found in such a peaceful moment was so immense, that even as the world continued to spin around them, this moment of peace that the two girls enjoyed was something that Elise treasured immensely. Tetsuko seemingly agreed with the notion, and seeing how comfortable her lover was made her idea all the more worth it.
At the musing of what love was, it seemed that the girls once more shared similar views, and when she felt Tetsuko's hand gently brush her hair Elise smiled back in return. It was reassuring that Tetsuko also found happiness by being together, that the iron-blooded knight who never cared about her own happiness, found such happiness that she began to care about it also. Tetsuko's comment about not knowing how to answer the question of what love was, made Elise ponder for a moment, thinking further on the words spoken by her beloved Tetsuko. When she said that it was not an answer they would find, the answer that came as a conclusion to Tetsuko's musing made her hum softly. "An answer that finds you~ I like that." Elise chimed happily, liking just how romantic it sounded
Yet as she proclaimed her love once more for Tetsuko, Elise paused for a moment, her gaze locking with Tetsuko's own. She felt it also, the fact that when those words were said it felt so much different. It didn't feel like she was trying to reassure Tetsuko, rather it was a warm and genuine display of her affection, something she could say with such honesty and confidence. Tetsuko's bittersweet smile as she commented on how she felt like she couldn't say it back, the way that smile became all the more sweet as she revealed she was no longer afraid of knowing her heart, as long as she was at her side. The pain of the past was something she could withstand, as long as she was there in the future. That knowledge that she would be able to fight till the very end if it meant protecting her princess. It made her smile tenderly
And yet something happened when Tetsuko gently lowered her hand, and like in the scene of a fairytale kissed the back of her princess' hand, the words that followed.
"I.."
She was about to respond, but something stirred inside her, a moistness building in the corner of her eyes. "Wait why am I-" Seemingly bewildered the feelings started to surface in their full force, relief and happiness washing over her in such a large dose that now in the comfort of privacy and hearing those words that could no doubt be interpreted any differently, that tears started to flow down her cheeks.
"I'm..." the girl tried to repeat herself as memories rekindled within her heart. Who could blame her? For eleven years she had adored her knight, loved her so immensely so to her this was truly something that impacted her strongly. Soft sobs came from the girl as she smiled amidst her tears. "I'm so happy... All those years... all those years I dreamed of this day."
As the tears rolled down her cheeks her free hand tried to wipe away the tears with the back of her hand. "A dream that now became reality." And yet even as she tried they continued to gently roll down her cheeks. "I love you Tetsu~"

WORD COUNT TAG SOMEONE BY MINNIE OF GS AND IT'S DARK ON A COLD DECEMBER, An answer that finds they who seek it, that's what love was to Tetsuko. The answer she came to had never been important, the confusion over that answer had never been her bigget problem. It had ben finding the courage to seek after that answer, to delve into her steel heart and let it take its natural shape, that had led Tetsuko to truly understanding the meaning of the word love. What it meant to her, what the answer had always and would always be.
An answer that couldn't ever be truly put into words.
More than romantic, to Tetsuko, it simply sounded like the truth. For nothing in life was so simple, none of the important answers could be found so easily. After Elise proclaimed her love once more, Tetsuko ended up displaying her own genuine feelings. Feelings towards the present, feelings that cared not for the uncertainty of the future nor the darkness of the past. Those chains that shackled Tetsuko's heart, that still remained to hold her core in their grip, did not change what Tetsuko felt. Even if she felt fear and anxiety, burden and guilt, responsibility and pressure, no matter what Tetsuko felt she had to do, no matter what honor she had to claim, Tetsuko knew know to never forget the fact that she'd learned this night.
That she, Tetsuko Shindou, was in love with Elise von Eisenberg.
Tetsuko proclaimed it once more, wit even greater clarity, as she pressed her lips against Elise's hand. The Germanic lass was seen letting her feelings flow, much like Tetsuko had, as tears started to roll down Elise's cheeks. The iron knight was quick to raise a hand to wipe them, yet didn't tell Elise not to cry, for there was no reason for such a request. They both needed to be able to 'feel' as much as they could, to let those feelings blossom naturally.
Memories were rekindled, in this park. Both bitter and sweet, as the time, as the past, seemed to all come to a concrete moment in the present. As was the nature of time, as was the nature of their unreasonable efforts to achieve their desires. Dreams became reality, but their reality was naught but the result of those who followed their dreams. Tetsuko smiled softly up at the sobbing girl, moisture forming in Tetsuko's own eyes as she realized how cruelly she'd made Elise wait for this...
Yet, that mattered not now. For all that mattered in the present was, well, the present.
The uncertain future.
The broken past.
They were shielded from both in the now.
And so it was, that as she wiped away Elise's tears, Tetsuko heard those words again, those words she'd heard so many times before... Yet it wasn't until that night that this knight understood the true weight behind them. Tetsuko understood the truth behind Elise's feelings, and trusted it completely. So there was only one thing to say, really.
"I know." Tetsuko uttered quietly.
- - i think i love you better now
