“Pfff. It’s less muscle care and more furniture care but I get what you mean.” She offered a warm smile, not even breaking a sweat lifting these. If anything some of her muscles seemed to briefly get a bit bigger, but she wasn’t straining herself even close to how she might present herself on TV when stopping a crime or the like. She let him do as he needed under the couches without a worry or even a tease that he should hurry up, dusting her hands off when she finally let the last of the furniture back down.
With a sudden thud sounding behind her her head turned about and she held a smirk as she watched him try to catch anything before it fell, chuckling to herself and still focusing on making sure Brinner was going along okay, starting to pour out a plate that looked like it could feed a small family for herself and a smaller plate of the leftovers for him, covered with a bit of tinfoil to help it stay warm while it waited for him, Mia herself balancing her plate and nibbling from it idly as they continued to talk. The question about vigilantes piqued her interest, and…eh. This kid didn’t look like some super sleuth. Why not be honest?
“I think they’re alright. I mean they have it a lot harder than I did here. Japan’ser…’weeb?’ that what they’re called? Well I’ve seen those guys all for it but the rest of Japan is super harsh about it. Back in America, even before any laws allowed heroes to be legal, vigilantes had a much better public reception. Super hero media was a lot more common over there, or at least, more accepted.” She gave a casual shrug. “Either way, I got nothing against vigilantes. Now and then I might run into one and if I don’t think they’re doing harm I ain’t about to take ‘em in, but really I know I gotta do my job too, so don’t go tellin’ anyone okay?”

Interesting. The public perception really does shape how one views heroism. One of the most common forms of entertainment were comics, movies, and games. In the west, that tends to be populated by superhero stories, so that probably played a huge role in making this whole vigilantism concept to be well received, or at the very least have more fans for them. Contrast that with how strict heroism rules and regulations are here, and overall the tense atmosphere...it's gonna take a while before many vigilantes and even some heroes are accepted by the common folks. It's a bit weird to think about places outside your own sphere of recognition, especially if you'r never stepped outside of the states...right?
The question to ask this former american hero if there were any talks of someone named Sai in the western science community is tempting..if it a bit vain and egotistical. But the idea is still burning in his mind: Has he ever left Japan? He has no such memory of it, and even if he did...what did he do? Kent slightly frowns a bit, making sure Kearny doesn't see it. He continues to sweep up and finish up the job as she eats, but he still remains plagued by this notion. Could he have played some sort of role in the states that lead to him losing his memories? Just that vague temptation, even if it never happened...It just makes hi-
Kent slightly slaps himself on the forehead. This is no time to think about these sorts of things. You have to finish up this job. Worry about it later, alright? Besides, he's glad she didn't catch his slight slip of the tongue, so he shouldn't risk it again with a second one. "Okay, just gotta swipe these and..." Some time passes, Kent humming to himself and Mia getting the Brinner ready. "...Alright! We should be ready to go for now." Some eIt was mainly housekeeping, so nothing too extreme yet. "Is that all or you want need something else?" He heads to where she is preparing the leftovers for him, looking at the crispy bacon. Kent's stomach quietly reminds him: he hasnt eaten today or yesterday. "Hmm, not bad. Think if I touched it, it would have burned up while on the stove." He jokes. He cracks his neck around, slightly zipping up and down his work jumpsuit. "You would think this kind of stuff wouldn't make you tired, but it does, huh? Well then." He looks at the food. "Think that and [reasonable price] would do for my payment. "

Mia smiled as he made sure to finish up his job, leaning on the serving window that was built into the dividing wall between the kitchen space and the livingroom space. Tended to be a bit more comfortable for her anyway rather than sitting with a plate of warm food on her lap and the inability to properly position herself and relax. The plate for her little helper was gestured to as he approached and his eyes caught the plate of crisply bacon, glad to see that he was enjoying the food especially as his stomache seemed to give a little rumble. “Oh I wouldn’t know. I mean I get a nice, full, satisfied feeling, but I don’t think a meal has ever really made me tired. Like it can gear me up for a good nap but only if I was feeling ready for one first ya know?”
As he mentions the price, she couldn’t help but smirk and held up a finger as she held a hash brown in her lips, nibbling it as she wandered over to an old looking coat hung up on a coat rack beside what was presumably her bedroom, tossing a wallet she retrieved between her hands as she walked back, and pulling out some notes on the last few steps. She ended up placing down the agreed upon price, plus a roughly 70% tip. She never really cared much for buying things or saving money herself outside of a nice TV and some games, and she already had the latest consoles and stuff. “Mar ya mo.” She paused and swallowed. “there ya go.” She’d rest on her elbows and gesture with a strip of bacon to the TV. “Feel free to stick around though. I was just gonna watch storage war or something and try not to make any more mess until tomorrow. Course, I’m sure you might need to dine and dash if you’ve got more jobs?”

Kent stares in surprise as he looks at the tip. "Th-this is..Uh-uh I mean...wha...." He stares at Kearny, unable to believe that she would actually do this. He can like, buy more parts or machines for his experiments...he can get that cooling system...all of the possibilities...Kent shakes his head. "Th-this is too much..." He tries to give back some of it, but with how lax she was in handing it, it was clear she didn't give a damn about how much. She was just glad he actually did the job. Now, if Brandon were here, he would start yelling in surprise and start shaking Kent's shoulder going "THIS IS WAY MUCH, WE CAN BUY MORE FOOD!" Come on now, Brandon, seriously? Food? That's whats on your mind right now? Kent's stomach growls a little by the mere thought of food, as if it were disagreeing with him.
He was a bit touched by her offer of staying longer to watch something, but he never was a huge fan of that show or any other. Plus, it feels like he's now overstepping the boundaries of customer and worker. "Eeeeeh...I'll pass for now. Need to head back to the shop and make sure nothing's broken." He gives a smile as he places the money in his pocket. "Hopefully I can get more jobs in the future. If you need anything else from me, you know who to call." He waves at her, grabs his supplies and places them in the cart, and starts to head out. He stops at the stairs. "It's been nice aiding you, Red Horn." He heads down and starts heading out of the apartment, satisfied at a job well done.
Maybe next time he'll luck out and get called in to fix an appliance. Maybe even a fridge, or, ooh, maybe even a microwave.
