A crying girl. Her leg was twisted and bent at an odd angle. It hurt so much. The eight year old was wailing. All she wanted was to get her teddy bear. Reaching out to grab it, she then fell off the railing, landing hard on the concrete down below. She did not know what was worse, that loud cracking sound, the sharp pain on her leg that followed right after, or the fact that she got separated from her mommy and didn't know where she was. She continued to sob, holding her teddy bear tightly while doing so. The poor thing. And unfortunately, things were not going to get better for her. In fact, things would soon become much more dire....

It started off as a day like any other. Sean was walking outside, humming the tune of Coco Jambo while listening to that song on his phone, holding a 1 liter water bottle, and just minding his own business. What was there to do today? Perhaps he could call one of his friends and chat for a bit. Maybe go for a swim at the beach. Or maybe go jog for a while. Well whatever he decided to do, Sean had a feeling that today was going to be a wonderful day!
Oh how wrong he was. It would not take too long for everything to go to shit.
Just as he was about to take out his phone to call Rowan, Sean noticed something. Something very wrong. There was a child on the street. From the way she was crouching and holding her leg, it was clear that she was hurt very badly. But how? What had happened to her? Wait, there was no time to think about that! It was dangerous for the girl to remain on the street! She needed to get out of there! Without hesitation, Sean began to run towards the girl, intent on getting her out of there.
HONK HONK
A truck. There was a truck, and it was going to hit the girl! Sean's eyes widened in shock. It was as though time itself had slowed to a crawl. No. No! It can't! She can't! She won't! I won't let her! I'll... I'll save her! I'm a hero! There was no time to think. Only act. Can't stop! Won't stop! Not till she's safe!
However, the truck was going too fast. Far too fast. Would he even make it in time?
Closing his eyes, Sean activated his quirk. Concentrating, the boy shot the water out towards the girl, intent on pushing her out of the way. The mass of water rushed through the air as quickly as the blue-haired boy could make it go. But would it make it to her in time? Please make it, please make it, please make it!
Sean's face lit up with happiness as he saw the water slide in underneath the girl and slide her off the road like a sled in the nick of time. The girl was startled and screamed loudly, but she had avoided death by mere centimeters. Sean sighed a huge breath of relief. He did it! She was saved! Everything was going to be fine now!
SCREEEEEEEEEEECH!!!
It was a shame that with how worried Sean was about the truck, he failed to notice the car that was right behind him and could not slow down in time. Not until it was too late.

"Youko! Youko! Where are you?!" A woman was frantically searching for her baby girl. Stupid, how stupid she was! She had looked away for only one second, and that was all it took to lose sight of her. "YOUKO!" As the woman ran around with tears in her eyes, she noticed the broken railing and the street just beneath the short cliff. Oh no! She stopped and began to scream upon seeing the scene.
Her precious baby girl was on the sidewalk below, drenched in water, clutching her teddy bear. The woman made her way down the cliff, rushing to get to her daughter, yelling out loud upon seeing the girl's broken leg. "Youko, baby! Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" Crying, the woman held her daughter tightly. "Mommy's such a dum-dum, but I promise everything is going to be fine now!"
She then heard a scream. A man on the other side of the street hunched over near a young male with blue hair and tanned skin. He was freaking out. "Oh shit! I didn't mean to hit you! Shit! You okay kid? Kid? Hello! Damn it! He's not responding! Fuck, that's a lot of blood on his head!" The woman saw the blue hair, and then noticed the water her daughter was covered in. Wait a minute... She put two and two together. This blue-haired teen, whoever he was, must have used some water based quirk to push her baby girl out of the way of an incoming vehicle. She immediately began to tear up. Oh my god. This is all my fault! My poor baby was in danger, and that boy tried to save her! Hastily taking out her phone, the woman began to call for an ambulance.

Umi Mizushima was just completely devastated. How? Why? She began to sob as she looked at her unconscious son lying down on the hospital bed. She could not tell just how much time had passed. It felt like forever ago that she had received a call from the hospital notifying her that her son had been hit by a car and had sustained very serious injuries. Umi was not really paying much attention with the specific details the doctor had told her. For her, everything became a blank the moment she heard the words: 'We have your son here at the hospital.' Those words pierced her like a knife to the heart. She couldn't bear it. Not her precious baby boy!
She was then startled when the room door was suddenly opened and someone who wasn't a doctor or nurse came in. "Wha...? Who are you?" The stranger was a woman. The very same one whose daughter the unconscious student had saved earlier. Speaking of the girl, she was currently sitting on a wheelchair that was being pushed by her mother. Her broken leg was all bandaged up and put in a cast. "I'm so sorry for intruding, madam. My name is Nozomi Inoue. My daughter here... she is the one that brave young man there saved. She... no, we wanted to thank him for saving her life." She then began to cry. "It's all my fault! If I wasn't such a horrible mother, my baby wouldn't have been in danger! Your son would be alright! I'm so sorry!" The lady bowed, completely beside herself with guilt, remorse, and tears.
Umi placed a hand on the lady's shoulder, consoling her. In truth, Umi was angry, understandably so. But she could not stay mad. She knew her son would have forgiven the woman. If Sean were awake, he would probably have given one of his big smiles and have said something like 'Hey, don't worry about it. It's all good!' It was painful to think of the possibility of her son never waking up again, but it was also heartwarming to think that her precious boy was so selfless, willingly putting himself in danger to save a little girl's life. He was a true hero, both in heart and in spirit.
The eight year old moved the wheels in her wheelchair so she could get close to the bed Sean was on. With one hand, she held her teddy bear. With the other, she put a hand on the boy's arm. "Mister?" Umi wiped a tear and smiled at the girl. "His name is Sean, dear." The girl nodded in thanks. "Sean? Hi. My name is Youko. Youko Inoue. You saved me from that truck. i was so scared and hurt. If you didn't come in, I would have been hurt even more, or worse. So thank you. Thank you so much! Teddy wants to thank you too." She then began speaking in a goofy voice, presumably pretending that it was the stuffed animal talking. "Sir Sean! With all of my heart, I thank you! I hereby declare you a true hero, among the finest in all of Japan!" The girl then spoke in her normal voice, starting to tear up a bit. "See? Even Teddy thinks you're awesome! So please... please get better soon!"
Nozomi then went over to Youko. "Thank you, sweetie. That's enough now." She then began to speak to Sean. "I'm so sorry for what happened to you. I know nothing I can say or do will help fix this. But I just wanted to thank you for saving my baby girl. I'll never forget the kindness you showed. Thank you! Get better soon!" With that done, Nozomi apologized to Umi once more before leaving the room with her daughter, leaving Umi alone with her son.

It was very difficult to notify the school that one of their students was now at Tokyo Hospital, having been severely injured in a car accident and was now in a coma. Not because contacting the school was difficult, but because Umi just kept tearing up and sobbing upon trying to get the words out, having to repeatedly apologize and start over. Was sending Sean to that school a mistake? No, the boy was pure and kindhearted. There was no way that he would not choose to become a hero. Helping others was in his nature. "Oh, my poor baby..."
"...Please wake up. I can't bear losing you."
