Let's unwrite these pages And replace them with our own words
Jasmine's breathing had been rather heavy as she took a good few moments to rest with her back against the trunk of the cracked three behind her. With a careful glance she inspected what had become of Mia post getting launched into the foliage, a triumphant grin forming on her face as she witnessed the woman fly through one hellishly thick tree before the damn thing crashed right on top of her, raising dust everywhere. A soft chuckle left her; that ought to have been quite the wake up call for the Oni. Even if she wasn't underestimated the lioness, Jasmine knew that Mia had enough self-awareness to realize that she was fighting, for all intents and purposes, a kid. Regardless of what the pro was saying the lioness was fully aware that Mia was holding back because of this mere fact, whether unconsciously or otherwise and that was simply no good. She needed the woman at full strength; didn't matter what the result of that would be.
If she'd get trashed around like a rag doll, so be it. The younger of the two blondes wanted a trial by fire and she'd be damned if she didn't get it.
Jasmine was made well enough aware of what Mia's choice was the moment the tree that had crashed on top of the larger female was sent flying into the completely opposite direction. Christ she is a monster... Jasmine thought to herself at the sight, yet that did very little to deter the blonde. Red Horn had gotten up alright. She'd gotten up and showed Jasmine exactly why people feared her strength. That red coating around her ever bulging muscles was something Jasmine hadn't seen before and that made her fully aware that Mia was no longer holding back against her. Well, consciously, anyway. Whether that was actually the case was anybody's guess but the lioness was going to test that out for herself.
Groaning, Jasmine slowly stood up, feeling her bones creaking as a result. She turned her head to one side, crack; the other - crack. There was one hell of a nasty bruise coming up on her left forearm after she'd managed to block an elbow from Mia and the blonde already dreaded the pain that would undoubtedly come in the morning... but now? Now she didn't give too much of a fuck. The adrenaline coursing through her veins and the sheer unadulterated excitement in her eyes was enough to make her pain tolerance skyrocket beyond comprehensible measure. Her body ached all around from the multiple instances of contact she took from the larger female but frankly Jasmine didn't care much about that either. The here and now was what mattered and the grin plastered across her face made that known to everybody.
As Mia prepared for the incoming fight, so did Jasmine. She went through her stretches one more time and breathed in and out. Slowly. In through the nose, out through her mouth. Her eyes were closed as she focused, entering the proverbial zone to maximize her effectiveness in the exchange that was about to come. Nothing that wasn't in the immediate vicinity mattered anymore. The issues with the police, shit back home, academics, her job or whatever the hell else it was. None of it held any weight on the lioness. For the briefest of moments anything mentally holding her back had been thrown to the back burner and when Jasmine next opened her eyes, the glowing crimson was more prominent than it ever was before. Sharp, observative, focused and, most of all, trained directly at Mia.
Jasmine seemed to have gone into a zone of her own and it was apparent by the feel surrounding her. It was almost as though an aura of cold fire surrounded her - immeasurable in intensity yet calm and controlled at the same time; the pressure was indescribable. Without a single word Jasmine begun walking towards Mia slowly, her arms lowered yet her posture making it painfully obvious that she was quick enough to deal with anything that would threaten her, leaving absolutely no openings to be exploited.
As she walked, the golden flame had returned once more. The tips of her hair had seemingly caught fire, pure golden embers raining down onto the ground, leaving a trail as she walked. It wasn't long before the entire golden mane on her head seemed like it had turned into an inextinguishable fire, shimmering against the calm breeze that blew through the area, rustling the leaves of the trees that still remained around them.
Jasmine would continue walking like this, shoulders and head high. If Mia decided to attack her, she'd respond. If not, she would walk up close to her and stop right in front of her. She'd look up directly at her, showing no signs of fear of weakness in the face of what seemed like an absolute but rather would challenge her to make the first move.

It really had been a long time since Mia’s red skin had come about. At least to this extent. Often times she forgot it was an aspect of her quirk, and an exceptionally powerful blow would remind her. A brief sense of alarm seeing her skin turn red where the blow had struck before she reminded herself how it was a natural part of her Oni quirk. In truth, the last time she’d fully allowed it to form was back during her vigilante days in America. Not only was her ‘limit’ much easier to achieve back in the early days of her career, but she allowed her rage to take hold of her a lot more than she did now.
But this…this wasn’t age. If Mia’s red skin symbolized the storm and the fury that raged inside of her when facing a good battle, the beast ready to get out, the look in Mia’s eye was the calm in the eye of the storm. The raging winds every present, ready to destroy everything around them, but a clear head and a calm mind met the eyes of the lioness before her, Mia’s lips curled just faintly into a smile, but with a look in her eye that did not allow it to seem demeaning, or like she was watching Jaz like she was just some spunky kid…this Kid had experience. Determination. Tenacity. Guts. Everything Mia liked to think she had at the same age, and dare she admit it, this kid had it all and more. There was nothing but respect for that. Enough respect for her to enter an odd state of zen rather than succumb to the rage induced by the adrenaline all but visually pumping through every vein in her body right now.
She made a motion to move forward, about to charge, leap off the tree trunk that remained of the one she’d just smashed through, but just as she took her first step, she noticed the young lioness walking towards her with a confident stride, and readily took her step back. Despite the moment to breathe her body didn’t calm. Veins prominent across her biceps and forearms, and her body strong and taught, so firm in appearance alone it almost felt like a fact that it could not be adjusted. As if to poke her flesh would have your finger bend before even the outer layer of her flesh gave in. She let Jaz walk towards her, curious what move she was going to make…but as she just continued to walk, Mia’s lips curled into a wider smile, gazing down at Jaz, slightly taller than the other blonde would recall now that she was pushing herself so far.
The two would stand there, maybe for just a few seconds…and ever lacking in eloquence, Mia would scoff and simply let out.
“You ballsy little bitch…!~”
Somehow even those words seemed to hold a tone of respect from the Oni. But the were the last to be said…for the moment at least.
A hard foot was slammed down into the earth at their feet, and it sank deep, displacing the soil around her almost like a wave of force pulsating through the earth itself. Tree roots that felt they would never be disturbed snapped up into the air about them like snapped rubber bands confused where to go. Mia’s position was re-sorted in a single instance and the red coated fist reared back for what seemed like one hell of a pull into a devastating blow. Her red markings spread further up her neck, coating her right cheek. The sharp black slit of a pupil in her crimson eyes focusing solely on Jaz in this moment, everything else a distraction from giving this kid her all. Maybe subconsciously there was still a limiter. A line she couldn’t cross to make sure she didn’t just break this kid in two. Maybe. But for the life of her Mia had a hard time recognizing it. As she came forward with the punch, at a downward angle to slam down on the young lionesss, she felt like she was throwing everything she had into it.
Whether the attack was a hit or a miss, Jaz would hopefully be left disorientated either by the blow itself, or the second shockwave as it impacted with the soft dirt, displacing it once again. If it was the former Mia would simply follow the momentum of her fist and spin upon her heal, if it was the latter, Jaz would get to watch as Mia’s strength had her fist cut through the dirt like water, joining her other fist in the same spin, both locked formly together in a rising strike aimed for Jaz’s side, hoping to send her some distance away with the force of the blow.
Mia was admittedly unsure if she was even breathing at this moment. Every action had such force and focus behind it every other function seemed to halt as far as her perception of it was concerned. For all she knew she’d stop in a few seconds gasping for air as it had all been locked in her chest. It was a great feeling. Exhilirating. There was no real concept of her, her surroundings, or anything but Jaz. Her target. Her future rival. Her promising protégé. It was perfect in that one moment and she wasn’t about to let up.
Whether Jaz had been sent flying or had dodged using her explosions, Mia would kick from the ground and leap after her, using the strength in her legs to catch up to her in a single bound. Maybe the air would never be her domain when the two collided. This time at least she couldn’t stop herself leaping after her, but she’d learned from her past mistakes at the very least. Specifically how their last battle had ended. Rather than flying up to meet the Lioness, she caught up to her in the air, grasping her ankle rather than providing Jaz with a clean shot at her by getting any closer. She shifted all her momentum in the air with a harsh twist of her body and dragged the other blonde like a weightless plaything over her head (assuming she ever managed to grab her) and threw her harshly towards the ground at full force, using the harsh break the downward force had given her to begin descending on where she would land, both fists raised above her head, ready to slam into the earth. Should this combo come anywhere near to fruition, this final blow would be hard for Mia to hold back on, but subconsciously, she may be able to pull back just enough not to break the kid.
(Sorry, a lot of this post can be disregarded if you manage to stop it, the combo just felt so right in my head but im making it EXTRA CLEAR you can cut off my post wherever it feels right to interrupt!)

Let's unwrite these pages And replace them with our own words
Calm and collected, Jasmine was capable of assessing the situation for what it was: she was undeniably outclassed by the monster standing in front of her and it was a moot point to argue. It didn't matter what she tried, at the end of the day she would end up losing this little sparring match. Red Horn had everything on her; the strength, the durability and, despite how much the blonde would try to argue to the contrary, the experience. Whilst it was a cold hard fact that Jasmine had seen her fair share of combat growing up, Mia had been facing off legitimate villains for far longer than Jasmine had been training at Yuuei. The sub-culture of villain the lioness had faced off against back home so many times in the past were hardly anything more than untrained thugs with quirks they weren't able to utilize properly. Deep down she knew she still wasn't able to face off against a pro hero and come out the victor.
While that was definitely a bitter pill to swallow, she dry swallowed it. Not because she was reckless and not because she refused to face reality. No, it was exactly because she accepted reality for what it was that she was able to spit in its face. That's how she always operated. Time and time again she'd be shown something seemingly tremendous and would face it head on. Trial by fire, as one would say. Jasmine was a practical person and a hands on approach always suited her best. This was no different. And as the fiery blonde stared down Mia, fully prepared to face not just the bulky Oni but also the consequences that would surely followed, she showcased a calm demeanor that was borderline unlike her given the situation. Normally one would expect her to be giddy with excitement, ecstatic at the chance to face off against such a strong opponent and to be able to test herself beyond what her school was able to offer. But this was different. Now that she was actively trying to climb over Mia rather than measure herself against her might, Jasmine's mindset and how she approached the fight had seemingly shifted. She knew she'd fail and that didn't matter. She'd get back up and try one more time. She'd do this over and over. Over and over. Until, eventually, she'd be able to get out on top.
She was fully prepared for the large woman the second she made her first move. As the ground shook and the foliage was razed around them, Jasmine stood her ground, as calm as ever as her eyes were trained on the pro hero. She was cocking her fist back, ready to strike at the younger blonde and crash through her like a wrecking ball. Jasmine made note of how Mia's muscles tensed in response to her action, how the veins visibly popped out of them and how the peculiar markings on her kept spreading across her skin. Slowly, carefully, Jasmine moved in response. Her legs spread ever so slightly, center of gravity being lowered as she watched Mia like a hawk. Time had seemingly slowed as the younger female's instincts went wild and her body moved almost as though it was animated. As Mia's blow came, Jasmine herself was approaching, darting straight for the larger woman's torso. Mia's fist went right by Jasmine's cheek as the girl went under her, and while the air pressure alone was strong enough to be considered dangerous by itself, it wasn't able to fully deter Jasmine from her goal.
The gut. Jasmine had previously managed to get one good blow in there and she was sure the Oni would be vulnerable there. As such, while on her approach, Jasmine managed to swipe her own fist at her which was tiny in comparison to Mia's own. The blow was quick, sharp and powerful, made even more harmful by the fact that Jasmine twisted it much alike a drill the second it made contact against Red Horn's abs. The contact made Jasmine feel as though she was attempting to punch through steel and she knew that the skin on her knuckles would definitely be punctured due to the force of her attack. Yet that didn't matter. What mattered was the quick follow-up from Mia's side.
The woman spun around in an attempt to get Jasmine away from her. The blonde would've attempted a counter or a dodge but because of the awkward position she had found herself in due to having attacked from up and under the other American, Jasmine had been hit in her side by the inside of the large woman's bicep. The blow, while not planned that way, had a similar effect of launching Jasmine flying sideways much like a ragdoll, stumbling in the air helplessly. Thinking fast, Jasmine corrected her posture mid-air through the use of several explosions and bounced herself high into the air in an attempt to get some distance and re-asses the situation.
Yet just as she had though Mia was right on her, realizing that distance wasn't going to work for her. Jasmine should've expected as much and when Mia grabbed her ankle and threw her violently into the ground, the lioness was ready.
Her expression had still been calm and practically unreadable as she tumbled towards the ground. Before she reached it, another series of explosions was able to fix her position in the air so she'd land on her feet, forced to land on one knee due to the strength behind the throw. The speed of her descent was so fast that only a fraction of a second after she landed did the ground crack around her, raising dust and debris everywhere. Her teeth grinded against one another as she felt the impact of her crash landing send painful jolts all throughout her body but she knew she couldn't afford to freeze up now. The Oni was coming and if Jasmine wasn't prepared to face her she'd be toast. For real this time.
Jasmine's eyes widened when she saw Mia approach from the air. Not because she was shocked or afraid of what was to come. No. It was because she saw an opportunity. With how the pro was acting, Jasmine knew that the next attack would likely have nearly all of Mia's strength behind it. The added weight behind Mia's frame would also put gravity on the Oni's side as well, meaning Jasmine was severely outmatched. Any normal individual would try to get out of the way and pray they wouldn't get caught up in the blast of her two fists hitting the ground. But Jasmine?
Jasmine cocked her fist back.
As she pushed one of her feet backwards to brace, she had clenched her fist so hard her hand began to shake and her nails dug through her fingerless gloves and straight into her skin, drawing blood. Faint crackles of C2N14x danced around her entire arm, lowering and lowering until they were trained to circle her hand, at the ready to unleash one of the strongest explosions in her arsenal. Jasmine's hair caught fire once more, this time brighter than ever before as she glared up at Mia, the confident glint in her eyes damning the pro hero if she even for a second considered holding back.
When Mia struck, so did Jasmine.
There was no way to win. She knew this. And frankly speaking she had half expected her arm to be torn to pieces. She tried anyway. As she pushed her fist forward, several large explosions went off from her elbow. Several more went off from different parts of her arm to strengthen the limb itself and make sure her joints didn't break apart the second she made impact with Mia's large frame. And the moment her one fist met Red Horn's two large ones, she released the blast she had been building up in her fist.
The resulting catastrophe obliterated everything in the immediate area.
As the dust settled, Jasmine could be seen having crashed into a razed boulder, having cracked it upon impact. She was immobile with blood dripping down her head and on her eyes. Her right arm, while mostly intact, looked slightly deformed, like it had been broken in several places. Everything from her wrist down to the fingers on said arm were definitely broken and a description of that would seem unnecessary at this point.
At first it looked like the girl had been knocked out cold as she hadn't moved or even breathed for a good ten or so seconds after she came into view. Yet eventually she coughed out blood, choking a few times as she struggled to breathed. Heavy, ragged, her chest heaved up and down. Her eyes, still a fiery crimson, looked up through her blonde bangs as her head raised, looking for any sign of the pro hero. When she would eventually see her, she'd grin at her, weak yet... happy. Something of a shit eating grin, honestly.
"How's that for a ballsy little bitch...?"

Even in the midst of her raging assault, Mia had to say the kid had a damn good head on their shoulders. She had no idea if she was actively thinking or relying on gut instinct but she acted quick and with purpose either way, managing to get a strong blow on her gut. It still hurt like a mother fucker thanks to Jasmine’s new found power, but given the red color spreading across their skin, Jaz’s fist would be met with a much firmer surface. The muscle behind the flesh was hard and firm, while the flesh itself was much more rough and coarse, comparable to a leather hide rather than the simply firm flesh the Oni previously held. If there was ever a question on ‘can punching Red Horn be any more punishing’, this was the answer. Her red flesh seemed to add a punch to her…well, punches, and made her skin just that little harder to get through, though that hardly mattered in the face of a blunt force like a punch.
Other than that punch though, the combo actually went off quite well. She could see ways Jaz was trying to correct and right herself, take as little damage as possible from the tossing and the blows, but ultimately Mia’s own strength and ferocity was putting the kid on the back foot, but damn did they handle it well. Facing nothing but street level goons left Mia with the sensation that everyone would turn tail when they realized the odds were against them. Jaz proved that view wrong pretty sharply whenever the two of them clashed, and it was a nice reminder that the future of hero work was gonna be in damn fine hands. The age gap between them wasn’t great, but as she’d said before, she almost looked forward to the day she had the throne of number one hero, just so she could watch Jaz give it her all to kick her back off it!!!
She came in hard and fast. Strength and gravity on her side as she readied to bring down both her arms against the young student. She fully expected her to dodge and come in with a counter as Mia recovered from the impact, but instead she watched the younger blonde rear back for their own attack! Hot damn kid the balls on you! Mia’s grin just grew wider in the few seconds before her body dropped and hit the floor. She didn’t fully register in that last second however. There was a burst of light. Force impacted her front and across her body. She was pretty damn sure she hit something before she was blown away, skimming across the earth like a rock against water, but whether she’d made it through Jaz’s explosion or not was hard to tell. Maybe she just felt the impact against her explosive force, maybe she hit her dead square on to blow her back, or maybe she hit the earth before she was blown back. Impossible for her to tell. She just felt her head shake as her brain settled and her eyes adjusted to the blaring sun spots that were burned into her retinas for a few moments.
She had a ringing in her ears, body slumped back over a totalled tree, using the shattered stump as an arm rest and her head rolling back onto a few shattered pieces of bark as she caught her breath. The ringing calmed just enough to hear those cheeky words…and a hearty laugh radiated all the way from her gut.
“You cheeky little bitch….! HHAHAHAHA!~”
Mia was too high on the adrenaline to register the pain radiating through her forearms right now. While the one that had been coated in red skin was trickling blood very finely, the blunt force having managed to blow some wounds into the skin, the one that had just been coated by her normal peachy tones was all but spilling the stuff at this point. The fact her veins were pulsing so hard probably didn’t help, but as Mia finished rubbing her face and chuckling her ass off, her red skin began to recede to where it had spread from, her eyes catching the red that shouldn’t be there and wincing a little, looking to what little remained of her shirt, and starting to use the rags that remained to bandage up her forearms, just wrapping them with hasty knots before she started feeling woozy, wincing a little as she pushed up to her feet. A small trickle of blood was pouring down over her right eye from her forehead, but with her arms in the way, they clearly received the brunt of the damage from that attack.
“Damn kid…you ever considered a super villain career? Could use a bad guy like you to keep my fights interesting! Hahahaha!”
As her adrenaline finally started to calm down, the pain still struggled to make itself known, but trying to rise up to her feet Mia quickly tumbled and had to catch herself on the floor, just chuckling at herself. “Fuck it really has been a while since I went red…forgot how much it takes it outta me…” She groaned as she pushed back up to her feet, rolling back her aching shoulders and pushing her way across the distance between them, whistling a little at the clearing they created. The impact of the explosion combined with the shockwave her fists created had just fucked up half the trees, and those that hadn’t snapped looked like they were bent to unnatural levels.
As always, Mia was just fuckin’ impressed.
Reaching Jaz, she half expected the kid to go for a cheeky gut punch if she still had it left in her, but with pain starting to radiate up her forearms and across the backs of her shoulders, the red horned heroine offered her arm across, her muscles still rapidly deflating, still a little tense, but nowhere near the levels they once where. “Tell ya what…how about we call it a day before one of us ends up going home without a limb. Sound like a plan Jaz?”

Let's unwrite these pages And replace them with our own words
Christ, she thought through a wince. Her entire body was aching from top to bottom, pulsating with pain here and there. Her muscles felt more sore than they had been the first time she finished Principal Kobayashi's assigned training routine and the bones beneath her skin felt like they had been rattled inside a goddamn blender for a couple of very long hours. Don't even get her started on her right arm. As the adrenaline began receding, so did the aching slowly start turning to sheer agony. It didn't show on her face too much, of course, but to people who knew the lioness a little better it would be evident that the girl was in a great deal of pain. Luckily her pain tolerance would be enough to let her fight through it... hopefully.
And yet despite the outcome and the resulting state that Jasmine had found herself in currently, she would do it all again in a heartbeat. Fighting against Red Horn always meant that Jasmine was free to rely on the full power of her arsenal. She could approach the fight without a single intention of holding back and she didn't have to worry that Mia would end up accidentally dying as a result. Hell just one look at the state the pro hero was in after taking an Mk3 Buster to the face reinforced that fact. A couple of scrapes, some bruises, some blood. Nothing too serious. In some ways, that reassured Jasmine. In many others it made her feel disappointed in herself. So much effort yet so little progress...
But that was what those fights were for, right? Progress. Improvement. Every single punch thrown, received, dodged, blocked, parried or what have you were all small lessons that the lioness took to heart to study. Even now, through all of her injuries and the subsequent pain that came with the package, the student was mulling over each and every bit of her interaction against Mia. She replayed sections in her mind, wondering how the scenario would've shifted had she pivoted to one side, put weight on the other foot, added more or less firepower to this or that explosion, evaded to one side or the other. There were so many factors at play in her mind at that particular point that any normal person would've gotten a headache yet Jasmine kept on going, perfectly able to keep count of every single alternate timeline where she had tried something different, attempted something else. It was somewhat of a damning cycle, really, especially considering how ashamed she felt with herself afterwards. But that had never stopped her before. On the contrary - it gave her more motivation to try again.
...once her injuries got treated and she recovered, of course. Well, somewhat recovered, at least. Jasmine was so pumped up to go she'd likely be rearing to continue the fight if... y'know, the bones in her arm hadn't been shattered to a dozen different pieces.
"Eh, once or twice..." Jasmine replied to Mia's joking suggestion, a small smile on her face. "Though I'm pretty sure y'all would've gotten fired long ago for shitty performance results if it was me you'd be up against." The lioness still felt the taste of metal in her throat and spat out blood as a result. Her head was cut too, painting several strands of her hair to match her burning gaze that still betrayed how much she wanted to continue the fight even after sustaining the injuries that she had. Yeah. Maybe in another universe, you dumbass.
"Went Red, eh... I thought that was something new. Never seen you use it before," the lioness commented. True to her word, she had never seen Mia use anything like this, not in any of their previous fights nor the many videos she had seen of the pro hero in action on the web. Heh. So that meant that their previous fight hadn't even been dangerous enough for Mia to draw on that power and use it against her. The same thought process occurred to the lioness: on some level she was disappointed in herself, on another she was proud of how far she had come. Yet she still couldn't help but ponder how much shit she still had to trudge through.
The thought was as irritating as it was exhilarating. Yet in no way shape or form was it exhausting.
"Next time, though... I'm going to make you start with that."
"Yeah..." the girl later agreed with a slow nod. The lioness dreaded to think what she'd feel when she tried to stand up. She could still stand up, which was a miracle in and of itself. At one point she thought she had fucked her spine up after hitting the boulder as hard as she did. Luckily that was not the case. Man that would've sucked. Nimue was already going to have a field day and she honestly preferred not pouring more oil into the inevitable wildfire.
The girl took a deep breath as she shifted her weight onto her less injured left side. Propping her hand on the ground for support, she forced herself up. Her left shoulder very quickly slammed into the boulder behind her to better keep herself standing lest she'd fall flat on her face from the sudden dizziness that attacked her. Y'know that feeling you got when you stood up for the first time after like... ten or so shots of vodka? Yeah, this was similar. Just, y'know, together with the pain of being hit by a fucking express train to Amityville.
Jasmine coughed again a few times as she felt her feet get comfortable on the ground and her spine holding up fairly well. Yeah, she could still walk and make it back to Yuuei relatively easily. Though it was probably best to get a car or something. She was pretty sure she wasn't able to ride Bumblebee back home in the state she was in and, well... she really didn't fancy walking through town with how much of a bloody mess she was.
"I, uh... I may need some help going back. Y'know, just so I don't scare half of Musutafu looking the way I do."

Mia snickered a little as Jaz, clearly dazed, started to work her way up to actually holding a conversation and throwing her a verbal jab, Mia scoffing a little as she looked down to her right arm, watching the red recede to the inside of her wrist and finally disappear, curiously scratching the skin where it had once been and noting how quickly her flesh softened up again once she calmed down.
“Yeah…it’s rare. Used to be a lot more common actually, back when I had more anger issues and my limit was…well, a lot closer to the ground. But ya know what, if I ever figure out how to get that shit going of my own free will, I’m gonna make sure I let ya have it!~” She grinned nice and wide, making sure Jaz got up to her feet and dusting the girl off. Mia herself just wearing the remaining rags of her shirt dangling from her shoulders, her sports bra thankfully made of similar fabrics to her hero costume so it didn’t fall apart so easily.
She scoffed a little when she registered how out of it Jaz was, but still with the strength to stand mostly on her own, even if she could admit she was too fucked up to get all the way home by herself. Mia nodded along and crouched down a little before her, wincing as the pain radiated through her legs, not as bad as Jaz perhaps but this fight had left her aching all over too. “Hop on my back. Won’t be an easy ride but it’ll be better than leaving you to hobble your way back.” She’d wait for the lioness to hop aboard before starting to trudge through the woods they’d fucking obliterated and back to the main path, not wanting to make any titanic leaps while Jaz was still recovering. Her brain was already rattled as it was.
“Hey er…you got an excuse planned for the school nurse?” She asked in advance, her gaze a little cautious and worried as she glanced over her shoulder. “Not that I’m rushing you to think of one. We got a while to get back to the main city let alone your school but er…you maybe mind if I have my Mom look at you instead? Her quirk’s got some healing aspects and she always used to patch me up…just…” She shrugged a little, careful not to make Jaz jolt on her back or anything as she walked like that, turning her eyes back forward.
“I ain’t exactly one to care what others think, but I already know a lot of teachers at your school don’t care for my hero style. So I’d rather not give them any more reasons to keep me away from you or anything. Ya know? Wanna make sure I got an eye on you all the way…”
Whether Jaz took the offer or not was up to her. On the way out of the forest, if the younger blonde brought up the bike they were leaving behind, Mia would offer to pick it up later for her.

Jasmine took the information offered and stored it in the back of her head for safe keeping and for future reference. If she understood correctly, Mia going all read and marked up as though she'd gone through a speed-tatt session meant she was approaching her limit... or was angered enough to lose control. She wondered if the latter part of it was similar to how Jasmine sometimes lost control to Ember. An interesting thought to ponder, but that could come later. Regardless, Mia's explanation had given Jasmine quite the epiphany. Regardless of always losing against the noticeably stronger pro hero, Jasmine always thought she had improved. Never did she beat herself up over a lose - it was just another failure that she'd eventually turn into a success. Yet Mia verbally confirming it did far more to Jasmine's confidence than her own internal observations. Now she had proof that her efforts weren't for nothing... and boy did that feel good.
Honestly the second Mia knelt down in front of her, her large back turned to the younger female, Jaz had half intended to kick her right in her back for even suggesting something like that. Then again, Jasmine also had half the brain necessary to understand she was in no condition to complain and should at the very least be thankful Red Horn had even offered something like this. She is a pro, you dumbass. It's her job to make sure you're alive and healthy. Shut the fuck up.
Swallowing her pride, Jasmine simply nodded and did as she was told, leaving her healthy-by-comparison left arm on the woman's shoulder for support while her right simply dangled off to the side, helplessly. Shit still hurt all over but it was bearable... though she dreaded what treatment was going to be like.
A hum of acknowledgement left her at Mia's later words, the lioness quick to catch on to what the pro hero meant. Yeah, neither Mia nor Jasmine had the best reputation around town. Mia, for her part, had been talked down by quite a few for being a reckless rule breaker. And Jasmine, well... Jasmine had been condemned as somebody who couldn't ever hold back and was always undermining authority and showing a severe lack of respect towards her peers, her betters, and society at large. She thought all of it was a load of crap, that was for certain, but she wasn't about to add fuel to the fire.
"Thanks..." Jasmine replied, feeling a little drowsy. Exhaustion had finally begun setting in as she felt her eyes growing heavy, each and every blink slower and slower. "Yeah, I think that's best for the both of us given the shit we got ourselves in."
"I... I came here on my bike. Bumblebee. The keys to it are in my right pocket. You mind..." the girl coughed, sandman fast approaching, "...grabbing it along the way? I think I'm going to, uhh... pass out..." and the second the last part of her sentence left her lips, her voice died out completely and the girl was out cold, soft snores leaving her, her chin resting atop of Red Horn's shoulder.
