My sole interest is uncovering the truth Being a vigilante and a U-Tuber can be a bit tricky at times. The whole job description involves plenty of fighting with the eventual destruction of public and private space. In order to get all the images he needed to edit the videos of his channel, where he engages in intense combat with villains for the sake of justice, Crow needs to have plenty of cameras spread out across the battleground, and they have to be close enough to the scene so he can record the scene with decent enough quality, and that's where the risk lies: having high-end expensive equipment in the middle of a battleground can be quite dangerous to the naturally frail objects and, sometimes, either the place where the camera is places is damages or destroyed, or they are affected by debris flying all over the place, so you can see how often he had to eventually replace or repair the small objects.
Problem with replacing them is that it can cost a lot of money and although his career as a U-Tuber was being quite successful as of late, he still needed to avoid spending all his income on restoring his means of livelihood. And because of that, he did some serious research about a reliable place where he could get them fixed for a reasonable amount of money, even if they had indeed sustained considerable damage. The most recent problem he had was during the jewelry shop robbery, when Red Horn came to help him out. One of the goons was thrown against the wall where the camera was, and although that captured scene was gold, it smashed the camera. It was still mostly intact on the inside, but the lens were smashed and the metal box around it bent.
Of course he couldn't really risk his identity by showing up on his civilian clothes, so he decided he was going there in his full vigilante glory, as the infamous Crow. Therefore, the best time to go there was late at night, just before the shop would close. He approached the place and stared at the entrance of the so called Kent Or Can't Odd Jobs and scoffed. "Terrible pun... Hope this guy is better at repairing than he is with marketing..." he spoke to himself before making his way through the door, looking for someone who could offer some help. "Hi there, are you guys still open?" he cautiously asked. One of his hands was holding the metal handle of a sword, just in case he needed it; walking on the penumbra of the law, a vigilante can never be too carefully, especially one with so much to lose as Crow.

Kent is yawning in his chair, trying to focus on the news broadcast that's currently airing. As the aide to a up and coming vigilante (or so he claims, anyway), he need to be up and about on the current news. Unfortunately, they don't appear to be showing anything major as of the moment. So far, its the usual: the weather and the upcoming city events. A shame, really. He could have used some entertain-
"Hi there, are you guys still open?"
Kent jolts from his dreary state. A customer. Finally! He appears to be standing in front of the other side of the door. He grabs the small remote and triggers the opening mechanism. The door opens, showing what appears to be a young lean man with long shaggy hair, holding what appears to be a bag. A bit surprising that he came this late, but nevertheless, he can understand why. Sometimes you can't come during the day due to time commitments, or maybe one can't help but be a bit embarrassed to ask for help, so you go during the night. Whatever, business is business.
"Hey there! Is there something you want fixing or something to fix? Yes, there is a difference, trust me." He nods his head.

My sole interest is uncovering the truth The man with the regal white and red prince uniform and the crimson mask with a long beak approached once the door was opened. Crow stared at the man in front of him with his reddish-brown eyes as if he was analyzing him. He didn't look like much, but hey, looks can be deceiving and he knew that all too well. He cracked a somewhat gentle smile on his masked face and bowed a bit in a respectful way. The way he spoke showed he had some wits to himself and that was probably a good sigh, or so he hoped. "I bet there is indeed a difference. As for my case, I assume it would be the later; something to fix." he answered with the smirk on his thin lips.
The vigilante approached the balcony and placed a small camera in front of the shaggy haired man, not bigger than a palm of a hand. It was indeed an excellent brand, one that could be attached to a lot of different surfaces. Not the most expensive one in the market, that was certain, but at least top 5. The main source of damage was in the lens area and the front of the camera, with some minor damage to the outside of it. Everything inside of it was still functional, otherwise he would've been unable to extract the recordings from it. Of course he was careful enough to bring it in without the memory card inside, as he didn't want random strangers to be messing with his actual work.
"My camera got smashed while I was at... Work. So I was wondering if it's still savable, and if so, how much would you charge for your services and how long it would take? You see... I would be willing to pay extra for an express service, if that's something you do in this shop!" he said with a kind and friendly tone.

It took Kent a while for him to realize just what the man was wearing. It was a sort of fancy costume, one that is intended to grab the attention of those who see it. It's a grab for attention, it's a proclamation to all, and most of all...it's a gaudy costume. Thinking back on it, he has seen some videos of this certain masked fellow, but he never really payed attention to what he...actually did. He looks at the broken camera and sighs, twisting and turning it around. "Oh wow, this is...this is really broken. The lens are bent inward, with some shards pointing out. Not only that, but the flash has been damaged...you really busted this up." He looks back at his customer. "You know, For something this small, it's quite durable, I will give it that. Nothing but the best for this brand...Let's see here..."
He gets off of his chair and heads to the back. He grabs a large box filled with miscellaneous items, then brings it near the vigilante. "So, mister ringleader, how's the job going? Any word on possible criminals I should keep an eye out while walking at night?" he let out a small chuckle. It's just small talk, no need to push any further. He grabs something: it appears to be a small camera similar to Crow's. "Now, this may be an older model, but I found out that despite the gap in development, the parts remain the same. I could remove the lens from this model and adjust it to fit yours. Maybe while i'm at it, I could even adjust this so there can be two memory slots, ya know, for extra storage for your...special videos." He sits back on his chair and stares at the camera. "You mind if I disassemble this?"

My sole interest is uncovering the truth His fame hadn't spread out as much, it seemed, as this person had yet to make a single comment about who he was. This only meant he had a long road ahead of him. If he was to accomplish his goals, he needed to be known in the whole country, no, in the whole world! But this was not important now, what matter this night was to get that camera fixed if possible, otherwise he would have to go online and order another one and that was something he was hoping to avoid. The guy said it was really broken and that was not a good sign. The body of the guy slammed against the camera and of course Red Horn had super human strength, so it likely added to the normal damage a slamming body would cause to the small device.
The description of the extent of the damages was not looking too bright and Crow sighed in frustration; he knew it was bad, but he didn't know it was that bad. "The guy I was fighting was thrown into the camera... By someone with super human strength..." he admitted as he sighed in mild frustration. At least the thing was actually durable and the man could attest as much. They cost him a lot of money, so they better be good. The man turned around to grab some tools and when he came back, he started some small talk. Crow arched one of his brows, but decided to answer him nonetheless. "It's a calm night outside. Haven't seen any trouble around these parts. But who knows, right? We never know when evil will strike!" and the last part of his sentence was more of a performance than normal talk. He really got carried away when he was interpreting his vigilante persona, and that made him giggle a bit.
In any case, the man turned back to the topic of the camera. He had spare parts from an older model, and while he explained it to him, he admitted to know of his special videos, and that made his eyes glow in excitement and wide, happy smile to appear in his face. "Oh, so you've seen my videos? That's pretty cool! Haha! Nice! But yeah, go ahead and open it, you are the pro! If you think you can fix it, I'm all for it!" Crow gave his consent.

Kent nods and starts to grab a spare screwdriver and small knife. Little by little he cracked open the case and removed any screws that could have possibly been installed within the model. He carefully separates each component of the camera, sorting it in a sort of small assembly line. He then carries the two small shells and puts them aside for now. "Let's see...yeah, thought so. It works almost exactly like the older model. See?"
He signals Crow to step back and he rubs his eyes a bit. His narrowed and slanted eyes widen, revealed a rich crimson color...only for a blue cross sigil to appear. The iris turns blue, crosshairs appear over his eye, and it begins to rotate. Kent glares in front of Crow, then emits a sort of...beam from his eyes. A small projection appears from that blue light; It's a recreation of the older model disassembled. It's glitchy at times, but it's visible enough for anyone to see and recognize what the hologram is suppose to represent.
"Most of the parts are the exact same. See here?" He points at a holographic part and it "zoom" into it. "This is where the outer shell and lens interact at. Your model received a large amount of damage at this point, so trying to just fix your lens is impossible." The hologram zooms out, then it glitches a bit into the front view of the older model, fully assembled. Some static shows up, causing Kent to shrug a bit. "Eh, it does that a bit. Anyway, I can replace the lens by just adjusting this older model and outright using it for your model. The inner workings will still be the same, so I doubt that, unless something managed to sabotage this camera behind my back, you'll not see any major difference video feed wise. I'll worry about the extra memory storage once we got the lens working properly." He closes his eyes, turning off the projection, and rubs his forehead. "It's gonna take a while, maybe 1 to 2 hours, so make yourself at home for a bit. Even for a vigilante, there's some some weird and shady things going on behind the scenes. So you probably don't want to wait outside." He shifts his seat and starts taking apart the older model. "I mean, haven't you heard of what the forums' chattering about? Some weird gang war is about to start. You hear anything about that?"

My sole interest is uncovering the truth The guy was quite skilled. The way he cracked it open was gracious and Crow was observing that with quite interested eyes. It seemed like the camera could indeed be saved as it was close enough to the previous model. And while Crow was happy about that, he was mildly annoyed he payed more for a device that wasn't almost the same as the previous generation, but that was just another sign of just how rotten this world was. He didn't show any sign of being displeased in his face and just giggled a bit. "Guess I'm lucky, then!" his tone was kind and relieved.
When he signed him to step back, he arched one of his brows in curiosity, but didn't argue. He stepped back and then when the boy revealed his power, he was quite surprised. It seemed like a very useful quirk, even if not very combat inclined. It was almost as if he could have access to the blueprint of the device just by looking at it. Pretty damn interesting, he had to admit. Crow's quirk was way more straightforward combat inclined quirk. He loved it with all his heart, but he could see the power behind this man's abilities. If his quirk worked like he assumed it did, he would be pretty much capable of building anything, given the proper materials and tools, and that realization made the vigilante think.
The shaggy haired man said it was impossible to fix the lens, but that it could be replaced using the other model and that it wouldn't affect the quality. "If the quality will remain the same, I don't mind if you have to replace it, my friend!" he said with a firm nod. Then, the man said it would take him maybe a couple hours, and Crow didn't mind waiting; he had nothing else due this night. "It's fine by me. I can wait." he said and the man invited him to make himself at home, which he obviously couldn't, but he thanked him with another nod nonetheless. Crow looked for a chair and sit there; if he was to wait, he wouldn't do so standing up.
More small talk, but this time quite interesting. So he knew about that, uhn? He wasn't as oblivious as he thought. "Apparently things are about to get really rough. I wonder when that will explode, though. We will need to be ready, there will be plenty of fights!" he said with a sort of mysterious tone; he knew this war would cause some ruckus, and that brought up interesting opportunities not only for Crow, but also for Kaleidoscope Eyes.

"Is that so, huh?" He muses while shifting around the small pieces. "Normally, gang wars such as these would be more upfront about their intention. They're the modifier, the plus or minus if you want to simplify it." He cracks open a can of soda and places it near his guest. "Lately however, it seems they've quiet down in terms of presence. All that's left is the solution...but when you think about who and what is actually performing these calculations...that's a whole 'nother story." He removes a broken LCD screen shard and places it to the left of the pile. "More and more riots done by proxy, certain quirk terrorists breaking into the public in droves, when you think about their actual value...they're the X variable in this criminal equation. I feel that soon, we're gonna see just what X equals to..."
He raises his head to his guest and lets off a small chuckle. "Sorry for boring you with this nerd talk. Usually I have someone to bounce off of; you know, the "supporting cast" of this little show I call my life. Kinda like your "supporting cast" in your videos." He grabs some tweezers and carefully handles the broken shards from the dented aperture. "Except, you know...usually we don't try to kill each other." He laughs a bit. "Actually, do you per chance have any inkling on who might be behind this atmosphere?" He asks "innocently."
The fact that his customer was yet another vigilante was a blessing in disguise. This way, he can try to gather more intel on what's going on behind the streets, rather than his usual sources. Hopefully he acts cooperative, though.

My sole interest is uncovering the truth Crow shrugged a bit, as if he didn't quite know the insides and intentions of the criminal world. "At least I would assume as much, from the whispers from the streets. I don't quite go on all-out-war against those guys. I'm a lonely vigilante! Hahaha! I would most likely die if I did that with no one to back me up!" he said, trying to play it cool and casual. As he said that though, the man cracked open a soda and gave it to the vigilante. Although he didn't quite like those things, he knew he had to be nice and grateful, so he grabbed it and cracked his best smile. "Oh, thank you! You are too kind! Cheers!" he said as he paused to take a big gulp of the gassy drink. It tastes artificial and way too sweet, but he managed to mask that well with a fake expression of satisfaction.
He was carefully listening to the man's words though, as they were a good source of information of how things were going around the area, and information was something that should never be underestimated, no matter how credible you might think the source is. "I see... Maybe it's the calm before the storm? Who knows, eh?" he said as he took another sip on the drink. The boy was wondering who was likely behind it and Crow had a good idea who that might be, but he wouldn't outright say it right now. At least he seemed to be making quick progress on the camera, so he wouldn't have to stay in this place for much longer.
But this person was slowly getting Crow's interest to sparkle with how odd he was. The reference for the supporting cast and the link he made to his video was clever if not a bit snarky and made the vigilante narrow his eyes, feeling a tad bit intrigued by him. "You have a decent perception of things, I will give you that..." he commented before being asked if he had any idea who was behind it, trying to crack an innocent tone to his question. Crow didn't buy it at all. Instead, he cracked a sly smirk on his thin lips and leaning forward, staring the boy right into his weird eyes. "Careful now, little firefly, for you might by drifting way too close to the light..." he said with a rather mysterious tone. "For knowledge can be both a blessing and a curse." he warned him.

He shakes his head as he grabs the lens. "Oh there's no need to worry about that. I guess you can say I have an addiction to info. I know what I'm getting into. The problem is that I often don't get the info I actually want. But beggars can't be choosers, otherwise we wouldn't have homeless people." He resumes his work, and remains quiet for a while, becoming aware of his annoyed tone.
A hour passes. The two were surrounded by a droning television feed that Kent turned on for his customer's entertainment, although he doesn't appear to be enjoying it. Kent couldn't bother to pay attention it as well, he was too focused aligning the lens with the new outer shell and aperture. He lets out a loud sigh and leans on his chair. "Alright. I think I got it all ready. Let me just see if it works...this is how you do it so..." He inserts a memory card and takes a picture of Crow. "Consider that a gift, free of charge. I have some more in the back." He leans back and holds the camera in his hands. "You know you got lucky, while I working on it, I had to replace some other parts. You really busted it up during a show of yours, huh?" He smirks. "Alright then, let's talk about payment. Suggest the price you think is fair and we'll spitball. Don't try to get cheap on me, I have the real amount right here so I'll know." Tapping his head, he holds on to the camera and glares at Crow.
He won't let this chance get away from him. He's not going to give him the camera unless he does something for him.

My sole interest is uncovering the truth So the boy too liked information. Smart.
That meant he knew the real price it had and thus he was probably someone whose ambition lied beyond this simple shop of his. Crow wondered where his true heart was set at, but there was no way he could find out with just how little he knew about him, and even if he was to ask, there was just no way he would reveal such intimate secret to a stranger he had just met, wearing a mask, and who he wasn't really getting along all that well. In any case, he went from just a casual worker to someone worth paying attention to. "Indeed... Information can be something really costly, and usually we will end up finding information we don't think we need or want, but they may end up being useful in an odd way in the future. Remember that." he said, giggling a bit as he gave the boy this piece of advice. But as they say, if advice was good, it would be sold, not freely given, so he could do with that whatever he may, for Crow didn't really care.
Of course this was a killer to the mood and for the next hour, the duo focused on their own things: the boy focused his energy into repairing the camera, while Crow would split his time in between watching the news in the television and checking a smartphone he carried and was always mindful not to show any of the screen while browsing something, probably his own U-Tube channel, replying to some comments and interacting with his fanbase through the many social medias he used.
Crow put away his phone when the boy announced he was done and went on to test the camera by taking a picture of Crow. The vigilante chuckled a bit and teased him. "Oh, so how do I look?" he said, making a bit of a pose shortly before getting up. "Thank you for the kindness and good work, from the looks of it you resurrected it from the dead! A true technocrat I would say!" he complimented his skill as he approached to analyze the camera, deeply satisfied with the outcome, just giving him a sly smirk when he made a comment on how he busted it. "It was worthy it, though." he quickly added.
The boy didn't seize to surprise as he came up with a little game, wondering how much it would cost for him to do the repair. Crow was quite amused by the bold proposition. The vigilante folded his arms and stared right into the boys' eyes. "A bold game you play. I like it. Very well... But are we talking money? If so that's too easy. Or would you want a bit less of money and some information? Up to you... You did the work, you can choose how you want the compensation." he offered with a large smile.

Kent smirks and firmly grasps the camera in his hand. “Nice to know you catch on quickly. It’s true, I want to know something. That something is all dependent on your cooperation. If you choose so, I’ll cut the cost to 1/4th it’s original price as long as you keep me in contact. I want to know whenever something big. Something massive. Something...dangerous. Whenever that...”thing” happens I want to be the first to know. That’s all I ask for. Nothing more. Nothing less. When that time comes, I want you to let me know. Don’t care how, but you let me know.”
He stares at Crow and then casually comments: “or you know I could just drop this camera and break it.”
Silence. He then chuckles and waves his hand. “Joking, joking. You’re still a customer, so that’ll be massively rude of me to do. If ya don’t want to, then I guess we can do cash. What says you?” He glares at Crow, awaiting for his response. The television continues to drone on, as the atmosphere remained dry. Kent and Crow glare at each other, awaiting for each other’s next move.

My sole interest is uncovering the truth It was a simple, yet bold request and Crow touched his chin as he thought about it for a moment, wondering if it was really something that simple at the end of the day, but he could not see any sort of tricks behind it. "Very well... I suppose I can let yo...!" but before he could complete his sentence, the boy threaten to break the camera in case the vigilante decided not to cooperate and that made him widen his eyes in a bit of a shock; he truly didn't expect that from this boy and that severely irritated him. Crow was very good at hiding his true intentions, and if anything, there was only traces of shock out in the open, but deep inside he felt almost tempted to gut this pretentious little prick who had the guts to try and force him into an agreement. Nobody forced him to do anything! He was the one who would reshape society in the future.
Luckily, Crow was brought out of this pinch when the boy admitted he was just joking, as it would be immensely rude to do that to a costumer. His eyes rested a bit and he cracked a false smile on his thin lips. "You got me there for a second." he admitted, not explaining anything else on that matter. "But worry not, I will do it. I will let you know when something is about to explode. And that cuts my cost to a fourth, correct?" the question was rhetorical as they had already discussed that. His hand reached a pocket and he grabbed some cash and he started counting it. "I assume the price would be about twelve thousand yens for the work? Here... Three thousand. Is that a fair amount for the work?" he asked as he finished counting the bills until he had three thousand.
Crow's reddish-brown eyes were locked on Kent's own as he waited for his answer.

The two locked eyes. What was a simple joke managed to make the tension between them darker and almost ruined the so called "camaraderie" between owner and customer. Why would Kent slip this rude joke, with a strong chance to ruin the good relationship and possible info he may gain from this exchange? Is he stupid?
Yes, he is. He's stupid for taking a risky gamble.
Beneath the tengu mask lies what Kent could describe as..."uncanny." This man, Crow, carries the air of a showman. He wants to entertain, and to do that a showman must adopt the personality and actions of one. In essence, he has to act. Acting is the crux of his charisma, and how he has managed to gather a small fanbase for his videos. But that's just it, isn't it? Acting in layman's terms is nothing more but pretending to be something that you aren't.
From the moment Crow kept at his polite and showy personality, there was something off about him. Not enough to assume he's but a killer, no! That is completely rude. He's seen the videos and despite the show, he does appear as if he does care for his brand of "justice." Something that Kent approves of, even if it comes at a price of possible violence and ultimately war. The problem is he tries so hard to keep up the mask that it becomes artificial, to the point where one can tell which is a genuine smile and the other a plastered on lipstick mark on a mannequin.
After all, Kent has had experience before with faking smiles.
He looks at the money that Crow had within his grasp, and sees him slowly counting up the bills. He managed to hit the nail on the price range, so he can be trusted at least in the economic sense. In hindsight, Kent could have maybe reduced it to 1/2 the price, but this possible info is too alluring to just pass up. He has to know. He just has to.
Crow stares at Kent awaiting for a response. After a second passes, Kent gives off a small laugh and grabs the money, exchanging it for Crow's camera, fully intact and nothing altered. He cannot betray the trust of the customer.
If he had time to prep, he'll do that the next time and just add a small tracking bug.
"Is there anything you want to fix?" He cheerfully asks. The mood resumes, as the television continues to drone on in the night. This was much more preferable than the awkward silence. At least to Crow, Kent assumes.

My sole interest is uncovering the truth Crow was just a persona, a stage name and identity he used to appeal to the ignorant masses. Of course some people would see him as fake and theatrical, but he was careful and cunning and he didn't do anything in order to let people know he even had a different persona, a different identity other than his civilian one. It was reasonable to assume there would be some performance involved, after all vigilante work was still outlawed and they were treated in the same fashion as criminals by law enforcement and some heroes who were quick to forget their own vigilante origins. Hypocrites, he thought, and scum of society who needed to be wiped first. In any case, he was sure this boy couldn't read past his act too deeply and thus he wasn't bothered by him too much, but there was something there, some thing in his gaze that bothered Crow. Not, it didn't bother Crow per say, it bothered the other side of him, his more truthful side.
In any case, it seemed like this business was done for the time being and as he counted the money, he seemed satisfied, meaning Crow had gauged the price rightfully; despite everything, he didn't mind money and he wasn't greedy. If anything, he was generous, for money was something he also wished to abolished in his ideal society, his utopia in the future. It was something that gave some people a false sense of power, it was tainting on the very foundations of what power really was, and he couldn't help but to remember the wicked father he had, the one whose life he had already claimed, and to remember that gave him some genuine sense of joy that he was now molding into a more genuine expression of fulfillment and happiness, which could be mistaken by satisfaction for the repair of the camera.
His sharp eyes analyzed it and he chuckled. "Beautiful!" he exclaimed as he put it away inside one of his pockets. When the boy asked if there was anything else that he wanted to fix, the vigilante U-Tuber shook his head. "Not for the time being, at least. I might be back. More likely than not." he admitted as he walked towards the door of the shop. "I will be in touch, as I still have to pay you the rest of the debt. And as a guardian of Justice, I'm true to my word! Farewell!" he said as he added more of a performance to his gestures and tone.
Following that, he walked through the door and vanished in the night.
