Fix Up #1: Human Armor [Yusaku]

Kent turns his head towards his new customer. He appeared to be wearing a sort of robotic armor, and he appears to be...nervously shuffling his way towards his desk. How interesting. "Oh, that seems quite advanced! I'm surprised that you're able to move in that suit."

The customer appears to shake his head. He's not wearing a suit? Then why did he ask for insulation? Usually, people wearing armors should already have a sort of insulation system or some sort of material to reduce electrical shocks. He can understand if he wanted to repair or add- Wait a minute.

He stares at the armored kid. He wants insulation installed to prevent external voltage blowouts...on his body. Why did he say 'body?' Unless...
He stares up and down on the young man. Maybe he's been thinking this the wrong way. Maybe this isn't a suit of armor...maybe this IS his body.

"Ooooh...So that's what you mean...Amazing! I've seen quirks enhanced or manipulated by mechanical properties, but I never saw a quirk that turns your whole body into a machine! Th-that is incredible! Ye-yes, sure! I'll do my best!" He gets off of his chair and starts heading towards the back of the room. "We can talk about payment later, right now, just relax and make yourself home!"

He rummages through some of his supplies. "So to insulate electricity, wood, plastic, and rubber are the best materials for insulation. Hmmm, in your case perhaps a sort of rubber layer applied over it can stop high voltage...yeah that can work...Hey!" He yells from the other room. "Why do you want insulation? Is your body building up large amounts of static? Or is it somehow burning up your internal systems?" Kent starts grabbing some tools and wires in case. "I need to know so I can know if I can do anything."

"Hmm....I see...Well then..." He returns with a large box of rubber layers, wires, and other sorts of things. "I'm not sure if I can really fully reduce the voltage and harm to the wear-wearer? Yo-you, have people wear you?" Kent blankly stares at the young man and quickly runs up to the customer. "Mi-mind if I see your arm?" Without warning he grabs the young man's arm and looks closely at it.

"Amazing..." he knocks at it without a second thought. "Hollow, too!" He steps back from the befuddled young man. "You're hollow throughout your entire body...amazing. Fantastic! Awesome! Isn' it great?!" He starts to freak out in pure scientific excitement, but then stops and stares at the kid. "O-oh, right. An-anyway...I dont think I can fully reduce the voltage but if we add a thin layer of soft rubber, perhaps we can come up with a small insulation system. Maybe a small cooling unit to keep the person from burning up. Nothing too special, maybe some adjustments. Now the power system, I can do that in a jiffy. You came at a right time, the shed in the back has some power sources laying around for my bike and other machines I mess around with, and I'm sure it'll contain at leas two 1350s without short circuiting. Maybe even more...no, baby steps Kent, baby steps..."

He starts heading  to the back where the "shed" is (a room), staring at a large arrangement of broken parts, unfinished and finished machines, and a lot of batteries. "Let me just search for a 1600, and we'll see from there." he yells from the room.

"Hmm, interesting! You dissipate heat?! Amazing..." Kent is left speechless, then puts on his goggles. "For now let's go with no cooling unit, then. If in the near future you want to add it, then we can go into it in more detail and effort. Right now, though....hold on."

He goes to the table and grabs a chair. He drags it for Yusaku to sit on. "You don't have to worry, just sit down." After his customer obliged, he went on with his mental map. "Would you mind opening your arm plates? If we're going to do your entire body, it's safe to assume we need to test it somehow. I feel modifying and adjusting one limb for now will determine if I can do this in the long term..."

The arm manages to open up, revealing a hollow interior. "I see....With the way your body works, I can see how you might easily get a large amount of voltage. If we try a thin layer of hard rubber, we can reduce the amount of voltage. I'll first tune up the servos and wires, then make sure they're protected enough to be able to try rubber coating. Don't worry, the rubber coating won't hurt nor hamper your mechanical body. Trust me, I've tested with several machines and none of their inner workings were hampered as long as I use a thin layer. Does that sound good to you?" He asks his customer/sudden patient.

"Oh, don't worry. If something goes wrong, you can just sue me for the outcome." He cheerfully replied. "I guess if you don't get hurt, then you can stay awake? If that makes any sense? I can't really know without knowing your quirk and it's full potential. Now then...lets get to work." He grabs some tools and puts up his googles, and pulls up a box filled with the required parts. Go Time.

The day went on as normal. Within the shop, there was a slight ruckus as Kent kept fine tuning the inner workings, making sure the wires remain undisturbed. He wonders what would happen if one of them got disconnected. What would happen? Would he just...explode? Would he turn off? Come on, Kent, there's no need to think morbid thoughts. This is your customer...err, your patient, you guess.

"Huh? Oh right, of course! Though, since the arm will be the only afflicted part, I'll just test the arm. That makes sense, right?" He nods at Yusaku. Without waiting for his answer, he continues working, organizing, fixing, and replacing servos and any faulty wires he finds. Once in every 5 minutes, he glances at Yusaku making sure he's alight. Seems good so far.

2 hours pass, and Kent wipes the sweat off of his brow. "Alright, the hard part is done. And now...the easy part." He grabs a can of rubber cement...and sprays the inside of the arm. A bit anti-climatic for all that hard work.

"...So, how about that test run?" He asks Yusaku.

Kent stares at the young man, then lets out a small laugh. "Oh no, that's not what I mean! Here, let me show you!" He leaves to grab something. The young man looks a bit confused, only to show a surprised expression when he comes back...with a taser. gets close to the young man, turns his back, and attempts to align himself with the opened arm. "See, we have to find out if the voltage is actually, you know, surpressed!" He inserts his arm inside the gap, and as if it was magic the armor pieces close around it. "Huh. Kinda snug. I can feel the slight rubber as well..this is amazing..." He looks at the opened up Yusaku if he can move around his arm, then he turns his arm around. "Barely any if restriction at all...Amazing. Fantastic! If anything, this is the pinnacle of human engineering! You have to tell me where you got this body! I have to learn!" He jumps up and down while still having his arm connected to the arm, causing them to stumble a bit. "O-oh. Sorry. Ha-ha."

He then turns his head and grabs the tazer. "You mind if I...?" The young man looks surprised, but after a moment of silence he just nods. Grinning, he turns on the taser and taps the armored arm.

The reaction that followed had to be seen to be believed.

Kent nods his head up and down, crossing his arms (which luckily have not been badly electrocuted). While the idea of fully piloting this unique robot with the apparent consciousness of a teenager does sound a bit scientifically appealing, there's also a weird sense of personal space that he's invading. While he is no stranger to invading several people's personal spaces (as he just did), It feels a bit weird this time. 

"Eh, I think I'll pass." He stares at the young man. "It's not that I'm not appreciative of you offer to pilot this government project. It's just... at the end of the day this is a temporary solution. Until I managed to get a better material to use, the amount of layers that one can of rubber cement just to insulate...well..." He shakes the can a bit, with a small rattling sound. "It takes like half the can. This can itself cost like 2000 yen cheap...out of a 6000 package of 3 cans." He gives off a small smile and starts to reach the back of the counter and starts drawing out the bill. "This kind of rubber cement when in contact with metal that kind of quality wears off quickly...2 days max without any hard activity. I know you don't sweat, but when you think about the wearer, as well as your ability to dissipate heat...insulating your body will be a constant effort."

Kent ponders a bit, then turns his chair. "So...how about this for payment? You don't have to pay for anything yet...BUT!" He puts up his finger, wanting to make this point very important. "Once or twice a month you pop in and let me tune you up. Plus, the more time I get to study your frame, the more improvements we can create and maybe we can find a proper solution to that lil insulation issue. How about that? Sounds good for you?" Kent nods in place. Truthfully, this is a bit selfish of himself to ask this kid to basically study him, but he isn't lying when he says he needs a better understanding of his body just to even make permanent solutions. At the end of the day, he needs some time on this kind of technology, and maybe through this kid he'll find even more kinds of top tech and broaden his horizons on the wonderful field of science, engineering, and robotics.
