Pro heroes had a lot to face on a daily basis. Even when crime wasn't afoot they had a lot to do. Stake outs on known crime spots, general patrol routes that helped them keep up a public presence while always being at the ready for crime, and even when not out in the field, in Mia's experience at least, the job could come with a tonne of paperwork that left Mia wondering if she could go back to vigilante work. She wasn't going to but...ya know, when there was a stack of paperwork waiting for you at home, it could definitely be tempting.
But the days where she could beat down a criminal in style for an adoring crowd, and do so legally? Oh yeah. Those were the days she lived for.
Today was one such day. After chasing a criminal down through the city with bounding leaps and jumps that would make even the incredible hulk proud, Mia eventually had managed to get ahead of the villain she was chasing. She skimmed across the ground to a skipping stop, her body lowered down from the shoulders, her muscles firm and strong and her tusks peeking out over her top lip as she caught her breath. The goon in question that she’d been chasing screeched to his own halt as he spotted the pro Hero RedHorn had managed to block his path, looking left and right for an easy escape, but with the police making sure to keep up with the chase, and also make sure that none of the watching civilians got too close, he wasn’t left with many options, tossing his bag of swag aside and glaring down Mia.
“You really think you can take me down! I am FIRE STARTA!” Roaring out a name Mia was half sure he made up on the spot, the criminal threw down his arms to either side, his whole body bursting into flames and firing off streams of it behind himself, bursting towards Mia as he lifted up his legs and prepared to kick her square on. The blonde heroine raised her arms up in defense of herself, arms crossed tightly over her chest and taking the kicks to her prepared guard, uncrossing her arms with a firm sense of force that repelled the fire man back a few feet.
“I’m pretty sure you’re the one who’s delusional thinking you can take on RED HORN! RAAARGH!~” With a few eager fans in the crowd bursting with glee at the sound of her battle roar, the red horned heroine rushed her foe, locking fists with him and gritting her teeth. While she was far stronger than him, the way he blasted off flames behind him to empower each motion he made, and the mere fact he was ON FUCKING FIRE didn’t really help her win in a direct lock. She had to break first feeling the burn starting to push through the thicker skin of her mutated body, ducking under a side hook and delivering a sharp gut jap before spinning around with a thrusting kick following her momentum, putting some space between the two of them again, Mia clutching her fists tighter rather than allowing herself to show she was in pain, her horn growing an inch more from her forehead and her whole body getting a fraction larger as her rage built. Still, with an audience, she kept herself in check, and started looking for a way to finish the fight…
As new and weird a place as Japan was for her, some things remained the same, and the red thing sticking out of the ground further down the street, while oddly shaped, was definitely a fire hydrant. Mia couldn’t keep her eyes on it for too long however as a fire stream headed off towards her, ducking under it and rushing forward, grasping her arms firmly around the burning villain. Her roars echoed out over the observing crowd, through the ears of fans and disapproving citizens alike as she rammed her full power through the burning criminal and slammed his back through a fire hydrant, slamming him down into the ground as the water spurted up over the two of them, putting out the criminal entirely and meaning he had little to fight back with as Mia rested a foot over his chest, breathing heavily from the chase and the fight combined. A hand flowed up and through her soaking wet hair before shaking it out, her body soaked by the rapidly calming fire hydrant as the more high tech systems in Japan’s future started to shut off the water flow before it was wasted.
Mia knew she’d be paying for the damage, but with the criminal laying on his back, realizing defeat, Mia felt it was worth it. She backed off from the crook, gesturing to him for the cops with a cheeky smirk. “All yours.~”
With that she turned to the crowd that was now allowed more room to move as the police started abandoning crowd control to directly handle the criminal, Mia grinning wide as she raised her hands to the adoring crowd. “Sorry kids! No autographs today! Mia’s soaking wet and wouldn’t wanna ruin any of your autograph books!” She took her hands into her hair, shaking out both sides of her hair to help herself dry off, chuckling as she heard younger fans giggle and pull away as the water sprayed over them too. Once she was a little beter, and her muscles had calmed down to a more normal size, she slammed her fist against her chest and grinned wide as she raised her chin and held a prideful smile.
“Let this be a lesson! Pick the wrong path and you’re gonna be on the wrong end of my fist!
~” She raised her fist in a prominent pose infront of herself, demonstrating her strength as the muscles in her arm flexed firmly, her white, tusk heavy grin prominent on her features as she worked the crowd just a little, eager to pay attention to those that admired her as a hero rather than those civilians muttering in the back about how heroes shouldn’t be allowed to act as she does. Screw ‘em. She saved the day!
