It was nice to get a small break from class every once in a while, and the weather outside had been exceptionally nice over the past couple of days. Chise was thankful that they were allowed the option of sweaters, it was nice to just wear her uniform shirt and not feel overheated because of that conforming blazer they had to wear. Hopefully the teachers would allow them to keep this option of sweaters open for a little while longer if the weather kept up as nice as it has been.
Chise made her way outside and over to the small grove of cherry blossom trees that stood a bit away from the main school building. She had finished her schoolwork early and wanted to spend what remaining time she had before the sun went down outside and enjoying the beauty of the trees around her. Chise stood underneath one tree and looked up, admiring the pink flowers that adorned the branches, creating a beautiful area of different shades of pink from light to dark. The petals seemed to glisten with hos the light was shining down upon them from above. The redhead wondered what the view would be like if she could perch herself on one of the lower branches, to be able to see the school and everything else around them from a new perspective.
Chise thought about her plan for a few moments before deciding to put it into action. She placed her belongings behind the tree so she wouldn't drop them and stood back in front of the tree. She looked up and thought how she would climb up to get to the branch she set her eyes on. She had never climbed a tree before but how hard could it actually be? Chise placed one foot at the center of the tree and reached up to grab a branch close to the one she wanted to sit on. With her other foot, she kicked off the ground and...dangled from the branch. She tried pushing herself off the ground once more but was having a hard time pulling herself up and onto the adjacent branch. Chise let go and huffed, curse her lack of upper body strength. Perhaps if she had a running start, she may be able to get up easier! Chise backed a few feet away from the tree and began her run, moving faster until she reached just a bit before the tree and jumped. Chise scrambled to use her feet to push against the trunk of the tree to push herself up as her hands gripped onto the branch, but to no avail was stuck dangling from the tree once more. She hung there and thought of another plan to get to the branch she wanted and sighed, only to yelp after her hands slipped and she fell back onto the ground on her back. This was definitely harder than it appeared.

As usual, Darren’s uniform was an open challenge to any figure of authority he might encounter, with his open, untucked shirt and absence of blazer. It was the weekend, and Darren was walking around the campus with his hands in his pockets, looking for something fun to do.
Some students went back to their parents’ place for the weekend; Darren didn’t. He only came back one weekend out of two. He knew he was a rowdy child and that his mom, despite closing in on her forties now, was as rowdy in her own way. The delinquent learned at a young age that when Daddy was here and noise was coming out of Mommy’s bedroom, it was best to knock and wait for a while before opening the door. As he grew up, he learned that it didn’t have to be Daddy either and that it was generally a good idea to knock and wait instead of barging in on his mother and her latest boyfriend in the middle of the act.
As such, he knew her old lady was enjoying her newfound freedom on the weekends, and he didn’t wish to impose. While he was never directly told about it, he’d been aware for a few years now that he was an accident. He didn’t really care. It never occurred to him to consider his home a broken home. There was food, there was a roof, and there was an authority figure. In his book, he had a regular childhood, and he was happy to punch anyone saying otherwise in the face.
He finally found something interesting. A girl with poofy hair, the color of an orange, trying to climb up a tree. If he wasn’t mistaken, she was one of the General Studies girls. It always struck him as strange to have such a class at a supposed heroics school, but whatever. He decided to flex his heroic class skill on her.
He blasted himself towards a high branch with a 50% activation of his quirk, leaping through the air and over the girl like he was being lifted by the collar. He landed on the branch belly-first. His accuracy wasn’t quite that yet. He hooked himself around it with his arms, and with a twist of his hips managed to hook it with his right foot and get himself up.
It looked a lot clumsier than he intended, but whatever. He had the high ground now. He smiled his dumb smile at the poofy redhead below, oblivious that from the low angle she was seeing it from, it looked more like a very smug one. His attitude certainly didn’t help.

I see you through the flood See you through the fire See you through the storms-a-raging
❧ There was hardly anything better to pass time with on a late afternoon than lazying around on a tree, outside. While he loved to run around the city and also to work on all the incredibly over-the-top physical assignments for school, there were times he just wanted to find the biggest tree and fall asleep on a comfortable branch like a huge, goddamned cat. His parents were out of the city for a little trip, and as there was barely anything to do at home, Yoru decided to stay on schoolgrounds for the next few days. That decision proved to be mostly fruitless. Many students were around, but most of them were busy with their given personal assignments, which left Yoru to fend for himself. He had half the mind to go and bother a few of his classmates, namely his class prez and vice president, but they seemed to be busy at the current time... So to show at least SOME manner, he decided to leave them alone, and did the next best thing he could: sleep on a tree.
People might argue how much of a good idea that was, especially while wearing his uniform trousers and button-up shirt, but he could hardly find anything better. He had the needed energy intake and outtake for the day, and his flames weren’t about to come and burn the place down in frustration. The weather was nice, the occasional wind was nice, and the quite chatter of the rare student around was also, well, nice. Being as content as a well-fed housecat after lunch, Yoru only popped one eye open to watch the struggles of an unfamiliar student as she tried to climb the tree next to the one he was taking a nap on. She seemed to be intent on doing what wasn’t in her power, and it was both incredibly hilarious and painful to watch. He saw most of the flaws of a greenhorn in her movements, and as someone used to jumps, climbs and runs, he already formed so many possible ways to kick her in the right direction it was crazy. He paid more and more attention as the moments went by, but he refused to say a word out loud.
As for the boy that came next? He was just incredibly hilarious to watch, nothing else. Yoru sat up where he was on the branch, and was already pretty frustrated with how stupid those two looked, trying to climb that simple tree. But his frustration gave way to laughing when the male student folded himself on a branch like a ragdoll, and tried to right his posture and even attempt a cocky smile down at the girl.
It was futile, Yoru was already bursting out in a laughing fit.
“Man, you guys--!” A laugh broke his sentence, and he had to gather himself to be able to continue. “You guys are so horrible. Is that how you climb a tree? Even monkey babies are better than that.” He joked between fits of laughs, and slowly but surely, he could get his breathing and voice back to normal. “Ow, my stomach hurts.”
He jumped off, even did a somersault in the air just to show off the skills the other two obviously lacked, and landed halfway between the two trees as if that was the easiest thing to do in the world. If there was something Yoru was good at, that was maneuvering in mid-air and operating with running and jumping around. Like a flea: annoying, and hard to get rid of. “If you want to climb up, don’t do what he did.” He pointed toward Darren while talking to Chise. “You will look stupid and hurt yourself in the process.”

Man, today was being a bitch to Maxi. All of his cameras had run out of battery, so he couldn't spend his day as he usually would, searching for girls to take pictures of, run from the occasional offended one. Usual business for him. Without anything to do, with his parents always around doing something like negotiate a deal, read through the stock market or just go on vacation, he was out there for himself as well, just like many others. As the wind slowly came down on him, he had decided to get his tub of favorite ice cream from his large freezer at the dorm room so he could snack on it through the day. That was the best plan he had in mind, at least for now.
While prancing through the school grounds to at least waste the calories he was taking in, he noticed some absolutely adorable girl trying to climb a tree and failing, along with Darren trying to climb a tree and looking absolutely stupid while doing it. Yoruhi agreed with him. Sidenote, he was certainly not happy to see a guy whose the only thing more unstable than his temperature was his attitude. The moment he saw him, he'd probably try some dumb bullshit to get him angry and get them both to fight. He simply wanted peace, so much so that, once he saw that Yoruhi left his tree vacant, Maxi made his way to it.
"Sweet day out here today, hm?" He asked everyone there, even the girl that he didn't really know while, just to flex on them a little, he began walking on the side of the tree quite casually, using ice to nail his soles to the trees and allow him to do that perplexing feat. Who needed physical prowess when your quirk could do everything? Exactly, no one did. All he needed was to move normally, everything complex would be done by his wonderful quirk. For that, he always felt incredibly blessed.
Sitting upon the thick branch of the tree, with added ice pieces so that he could stretch out his legs, ice pieces that were maintained by his naturally cold aura, he looked at them, taking out a full scoop of his ice cream, licking it up casually. "So. You guys climbing trees, is that it?" Maximillian asked, stretching his body out a bit to enjoy the warm weather, literally feeling that nice intake of energy warm up his heart, then the rest of his organs. His room was always so damn cold, it felt nice to be outside.

Maybe climbing trees would just be a goal she couldn't reach. A soft sigh left Chise's lips as she looked up at the cherry blossoms from below, watching as a few fell off and fluttered down to the ground, a few even landing on her face and body. Maybe she could just lay here and take a nap, after all, it was a gorgeous day outside with the sun shining and the gentle breeze. Chise folded her hands together and closed her eyes, feeling the breeze against her and rustle through the trees above her. Maybe just a short nap would be alright, it wasn't like anyone was coming over this w-!
Chise's eyes widened and she gasped as she heard a loud noise above her. She quickly sat up and turned around, seeing a boy on his stomach on the branch she was trying to get too only minutes prior. "What the..." she said softly, thinking out loud as she watched the boy clamber up from his stomach and reposition himself so he sat on the branch instead of clinging to it like a defenseless kitten would. She blinked as she looked up at him, he definitely was not a familiar face, he must be in one of the heroics classes. His seemed like an offense quirk, despite not knowing what exactly it was but if that loud noise had anything to do with it, her suspicions would be cleared. Why exactly was he looking at her like that? She didn't know who he was but did he know who she was? She stared up at him in awe and gently waved up at him, not able to find her voice in that moment.
Another soft gasp left her lips as she heard laughing behind her. She turned once more and found a different boy in the tree next to the one she was trying to climb. How long had he been there? Chise's cheeks turned pink as a wave of embarrassment rolled over her, he probably saw her failing to climb that tree only moments ago. How stupid was she to not notice an entire body in the tree directly next to the one she attempted to climb? She know what she did probably looked hilarious but she didn't appreciate how the other was mocking her, saying that even an infant monkey could do way better than she did. Her face turned to that of a light pout as she watched the other descend down from the tree he was in, jumping and doing a flip in the air just to show off. From her guess, he was probably a heroics student as well, and a cocky one at that.
Chise looked up at him as he came closer to her tree, "I'm sorry I never climbed a tree before. It's not like I can use my quirk to help me climb a tree unlike probably you or even him," Chise said pointing up to the other boy in the tree above her. She wasn't going to mention that her weight was also probably an issue, they didn't have to worry about two large masses hanging from their chests if they did anything physical like climb a tree. Her height also didn't help her situation, sure she was average in height, but guys were typically taller and stronger than girls, especially in the upper arm strength department.
Another unfamiliar voice could be heard approaching the three as the topic of tree climbing soon came about. Chise turned around once more, seeing what seemed like another heroics student, this one carrying a tub of ice cream with him. She wondered why he had such a large tub but also felt herself craving ice cream now. A nice bowl of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream with plenty of hot fudge drizzled on top of it, now that sounded good. "No Chise, now is not the time to be thinking about sweets!" Chise thought to herself, shaking the thought of that decadent sounding treat from her mind. Curse her weak will over sweets! "Huh? Sweet? Well...I suppose it is rather nice outside today. It almost seems too good to be true. I didn't think to use sweet as.....a word to....describe the weather..." Chise watched the ice cream carrying man create ice to help him climb the tree the rather rude brunette was just in as if it were nothing. Of course he could climb it easy, he had a quirk that practically enhanced his physicality letting him do tasks like this with ease! It had seemed like most emitter quirks were the strongest ones around...well no hers obviously. Why did heroes feel the need to show off all the time?
She heard the boy ask a casual question, Chise thought she should answer and not be rude to the other although she was a bit jealous in the moment. "I was trying to at least. I suppose it's pretty useless to try now unless I want to make an even bigger fool of myself," Chise said standing up and brushing her skirt off, making sure she got any dirt off her uniform. Perhaps she should just go, she could avoid the humiliation and teasing from the heroes if she left now instead of hanging around any longer.

Seems like it worked, thought the delinquent as he waved back with the same smug-looking cocky smile. The redhead looked like she was in awe, which stroked Darren’s ego in all of the right places. He had a huge ego on him, and there were few things he loved more than being praised, directly or indirectly, and it worked especially well when the compliments came from a cute girl.
His expression almost instantly switched to a pissed one when he heard laughter, mocking laughter, whose mocking nature was quickly confirmed with words comparing him to a baby monkey. It stroked Darren’s ego too, but in all the wrong places this time. His head swiveled like he was a fucking robot to look at the kid. He was some kinda scrawny looking dude who looked like he found his half-burned clothes in a dumpster or some shit.
The final nail in the coffin was that cocky flip. Darren jumped off the tree himself, landing between the fiery-headed girl and dumpster fire boy -- little did he know how fitting the nickname was -- breaking his fall a few centimeters from the ground for effect. That way, it looked like he’d just landed from that height like it was no big deal, and he didn’t even need a dumb flip.
Okay, it was a super fucking cool flip, but Darren certainly wasn’t about to admit it right now.
“Oh yeah? Wanna know how it really feels like when your stomach hurts?” he said with this time a much crazier smile. It didn’t help that he was also cracking his knuckles. This day suddenly got a lot more interesting. He barely even noticed Maxi walking past them and up the tree as he was getting in that acrobat boy’s face, itchin’ to pick a fight. He wondered what kind of weird-ass quirk was giving him the glowy eyes.

I see you through the flood See you through the fire See you through the storms-a-raging
❧ “The hell are you apologizing for?” He asked back, staring at the girl, oblivious to how she was trying to be polite. In his eyes, it was just completely unnecessary. Not like she was failing to climb the tree on purpose, so it warranted no apology either.
He was barely paying attention to her embarrassed glances, and even less so to the annoyed glared of the boy up on the tree. Yoru’s armor of social indifference came in handy when he was subjected to different levels of prejudiced stares. So he just shrugged it all off, which admittedly might have irked someone much more than actual retaliations.
But there was something he couldn’t just handwave so easily, and that was the frigging cold!
So when Maxi appeared, he started his own kind of staredown, glaring daggers at the other. In a way, they were natural enemies. Their class was a mess when they were both attending, Yoru’s heat was constantly trying to cancel Maxi’s cold out with more or less success, depending on which of them were more in control, but that passive battle was something their classmates were subjected to on a daily basis.
He was forced to ignore his classmates for a few moments, as the unfamiliar blonde boy was already jumping down – wow, whatever he did to break his fall was fishy – and was looming over him as if it was his duty. Whatever caused him to act the way he did, Yoru just looked him up and down. He had plenty of experience with this kind of people while he was in a gang way back. They were either the kind who had a big mouth to make up for their lack of skill, or actual overconfident bastards with something to wreak havoc if needed or provoked. This guy? Seemed to be the second one, but Yoru wasn’t about to take the bait and start a fight, and while he knew what the blonde wanted, he decided to just twist his words, quite frankly.
“What are you gonna do, feed me your home cooking, or what?” He asked with the most deadpan expression he could muster while watching the other crack his knuckles and feeling the cold aura of his classmate envelop them. He could feel his blood boiling just to keep him warm, and he could almost feel his flames bursting out just to make it all stop.
He could only take it for so long before turning toward Maxi with a quick swirl of his body, who already made himself comfortable on top of the tree.
“Argh, Frigiman, for god’s sake, turn the winter season off!” He shouted at him from down below. It wasn’t even that he was particularly bothered by the cold, but he could feel his own body temperature build up, his energy reserves being spent just so he won’t feel the chill itself, which was pretty frigging annoying! Seriously, he should have just melted his ice-structures as Maxi made his way up the tree. That would have made for a satisfactory failure.
He maneuvered himself over to the girl, trying to avoid any possible action Darren would make to stop him if his own previous words pissed the other off too much. This guy was a lost case when it came to tree climbing. He already had a style, which Yoru couldn’t help at all. But the girl? She could still be shaped into the best climber with a little push.
“Hey, if you won’t even try, you won’t get better. Let’s ask Elsa there to give you some footing with his ice for a start. Hear that, Frozone?” He shouted over his shoulder toward Maxi, using every possible icy name he could think of. It was Darren this time who was actively ignored, all for the sake of stopping an actual fight. Because hell, Yoru knew what it would turn into if he gave in to provocations.

He particularly enjoyed seeing Yoruhi being put off by his presence, for various reasons, none of them quite the nicest of reasons. First and foremost, he found him to be way too popular for his own liking: he felt like Yoruhi was the kind of self-entitled cunt whom everyone loved for whatever reason it may be. Must be because of his "mad parkour skillz", his weird fucking hair and the fact that warmth feels much better than cold. Next, he simply didn't like how he always irradiated heat to compete against his cold, always feeling challenged and teased to fight back and make himself even colder. Usually, he did. Finally, he just found his insults pathetically insulting: insults so bad that he felt like Yoruhi was mocking him with such lame insults, as if he wasn't important enough for actual decent insults.
If he was going to insult him, at least he could use actual insults instead of calling him various characters with ice-related powers.
Simply put, he wouldn't do anything, knowing that it'd be the thing that would make Yoru the angriest. Hell, he even stared at him and turned his face away, with complete disinterest. He had found that, usually, ignoring annoying people was the best way to make them angry, while making most of them unable to act against him since, technically, he hadn't said or done anything to insult them. He had just stayed silent, like a good boy. A good boy that slid a grin to Yoru before going back to his normal face, eating up another scoop of ice cream.
In other matters, he looked at Darren and smiled, deciding to actually greet his friend, even if not verbally: his mouth was stuffed with ice cream. Instead, he waved to him with an ice hands, a smile on his face as he quickly went back to paying attention to their conversation and not anyone in particular. The prospect of seeing someone learn how to climb a tree could potentially be quite fun.

Chise thought the blonde and the brunette were going to start a fight with how brash the blonde reacted. Perhaps leaving would be the best option after all. She observed the three boys one by one, starting with the blonde who had jumped from the tree above her. He seemed like the quick to anger, overly self-confident kind that would beat up anyone if they even but so much as a scratch on his ego. There was a saying for people like him: 'A quick temper will make a fool of you soon enough'. The brunette, on the other hand, seemed to be somewhat calmer than the blonde, although the self-confidence and negligence to others shown through much brighter. It was either his way or the highway, nothing else in between. The bluenette was the complete opposite of the other two: completely relaxed. Although she sensed a bit of a 'I don't care' attitude from him, only doing what he wanted without having to do much of anything. It seemed like the three all knew each other, or at least have heard of one another before, but didn't get along at all considering the events happening right before her eyes. Who knew heroes could be so indifferent towards one another.
Chise was just about to grab her bag when the brunette boy came over, clearly ignoring the blonde's invitation to fight. Why did he want to help her climb this tree? It was not like he was obligated to or anything. "You really don't have to help, I don't even want to climb the tree that badly. Plus, this one may just be a little too high for me to climb. I can always just find a tree with a shorter branch and start from there," Chise said with a rather nervous chuckle. She didn't know if she wanted help from this boy, considering his hostile like nature towards the other two students. It seemed like the other two didn't really care for helping either with the blonde still fuming because of the brunette and the bluenette continuing to eat his ice cream nonchalantly in the tree next to them. It appeared she was alone and by herself in this matter just as she was before the three showed up.
"Honestly it is fine. Tensions seem rather high here and I wish not for anyone to fight all because of conflicting attitudes. Perhaps it is best if I just go, my main reason for coming here was to merely admire the cherry blossoms. Climbing the tree was just something extra," Chise said. "I wouldn't want anyone to get hurt because of me. I'm partially to blame because of my selfish wishes," Chise mumbled under her breath. It was getting a bit late Chise thought, when in reality it would still be daylight for quite some time. Perhaps it was best if they all parted ways, they were heroes and she was just a General Studies student. Those two classes seemed almost destined to never interact, like if they were personified by Romeo and Juliet! A pair of star crossed lovers, but in this case it's classes. The redhead sighed and picked up her bag, this was for the best after all.

Oh boy, he was asking for it. Given the kid’s demeanor, he clearly knew what he was doing, ignoring Darren like that. Flame boy was the type of delinquent to piss off his opponent before a fight.
Darren was exactly the same, so to him, the fight had started before they even threw the first punch.
It was a battle of wits; in other words, who could piss off the other first. The blonde adolescent knew that he was starting as a disadvantage, so he took a second to pinch the bridge of his nose and calm down. In the meantime, fire twink was getting pissed at Maxi, so when Darren opened his eyes again, it was with the devilish smile of someone who had a plan. He gestured at his icy friend to come down as well when Yoruhi called him, winking discreetly to signify he had a plan. Two annoying cunts were better than one, right?
He moved on to the next phase: getting the cute girl to their side. Nothing pissed off delinquents more than a cute girl taking their opponent’s side, Darren found. And if the flame boy threw the first punch, he was sure to lose all feminine support. Putting his idiotic plan in action, the blondie walked up to the human dumpster fire -- it was hard deciding on a nickname -- and hooked his arm around his neck and over his shoulders like you would to an old friend. The forced smile he displayed had very little friendliness to it, however, and the same went for his sarcastic tone.
“My, my, we got off the wrong foot, I think! We didn’t mean to chase you off, it’s just some friendly banter between friends, it is! We’ll help you climb that tree! Put down that bag, it’s a great summer day, perfect tree climbing water, wouldn’t you agree my friend?” He tightened his grip for a second with the last phrase -- just an extra bit of gratuitous provocation.
Gotcha, thought the delinquent. If the fiery twink lost his temper now, he would lose their battle of wits, their contest for the ultimate annoying cunt in school. Or at least, it was a contest to the ever-competitive Darren. And just as there was no way his flippy action was ever gonna beat his awesome quirk, there was no way he was gonna beat him at his own game of annoyance. He had too much practice driving people mad. Or so he was convinced, at least.

I see you through the flood See you through the fire See you through the storms-a-raging
❧ Yoru’s expression quickly grew to a deadpan frown as he glared up toward Maxi. “Don’t ignore me”, he yelled once, but that was exactly what was happening, and it irked him quite much, though not enough for his flames to show. He just huffed, turned back to the girl, and swore to do his best and ignore Maxi in return. That guy must be getting off on shows of annoyance, and Yoru won’t give him the pleasure to spend energy at getting angry with him.
“Sure, we can find another tree with lower branches. Then you can try again.” He offered as an option, but before he could do anything else, an arm already snaked itself around his shoulder and neck like a venomous cobra, ready to strike. His head turned to see the blonde’s forced expression. His tone was dancing up and down like a rollercoaster, and that, even to Yoru, made it more or less obvious how serious the student was. Or how not serious he was, rather. With a confident movement, his hand reached up to try and pull the blonde’s arm off of him, his fingers grabbed not his wrist, but the soft base of the thumb on Darren’s hand, and gripped with just enough force to pull it away from him, and to make his discomfort upon the other’s action obvious. He would slip away from that arm, and frown at the other. “That is exactly what a bully would say...” The delinquent’s actions were exactly like the guys’ who bullied his friends back in middle school, and Yoru didn’t approve of it one bit.
This, in itself made him stop for a moment, and glance toward the girl. He had to realize that three boys suddenly teaming up on her must have been seen as the first buds of bullying, but Yoru would be damned if he was to be seen as an actual asshole ready to pick on other students. He was more of a bully beater rather, even though his attitude was less than perfect. He didn’t want to let the girl go with such a bad first impression, so he just took one small step forward to call out and seem as unthreatening as possible for someone with his constant scowl.
“Hey, I’m Yoruhi, from class 1-A. And you are?” He thought the best way to stop the girl from going and be less scared in their current situation was to actually introduce himself, as he noticed he failed to do it before. There was usually no need for pleasantries, and Yoru himself was somewhat socially awkward when dealing with such things. “You can just, you know, stay and continue watching the cherry blossoms, if you don’t wanna climb.” He shrugged, as if it didn’t really matter at all, but in all honesty, he just didn’t want to chase someone away that was trying to relax. She was here before the boys anyway. Maxi was easily ignored if one was not paying attention to the cold he generated, and the blond seemed more of an opportunist rather than someone to hurt a girl.

Perfect, it was working. Yoruhi was getting furious at him when he realized that the ice boy was ignoring him, which lead Maxi to continue doing it, even when he gave Darren a little nod. He got the plan quite quickly, which seemed to be a "Annoy Yoruhi because he's an annoying cunt"-plan. What would he do? He couldn't actively do anything to go after him, since he was supposed to ignore him. He couldn't start absorbing the heat without doing anything, since it'd make Yoruhi realize he was trying too hard.
He had one plan. First, he slid a smile to Darren, just as he created a medium-sized ice ball in front of him, holding it in the air, maybe because he was showing off. Mostly because his hand was still vulnerable to frostbite and he didn't want to wound it again. Instead, he held his hands close to it, using his power to start shaving off ice, slowly sculpting it into something he wanted. He'd inspire himself on the curvy girl that was trying to learn how to climb trees. Now, where did the "annoy Yoruhi" part come in? It came in from the fact that he was "accidentally" throwing all those ice cold shavings onto Yoruhi, the occasional one or two falling on Darren since he was that close to him. He expected Darren to understand that he was just taking one for the team, for the better good.
He was having a dillema though. He was focusing on sculpting ice in the shape of the girl, but he still wanted to eat. Stopping for a second, he focused well enough to get into the "zone", where a spoon of ice would move itself repeatedly, bringing ice cream to his mouth. That way, he could continue his sculpting work. The movement of his quirk on moving a spoon of ice to feed himself had been done so many times, it was almost some sort of "muscle memory".

Just as the redhead was about to leave, it seemed like the boys had other plans for her. She stopped and turned around when she heard the voice of the blonde saying that they all got off on the wrong foot. She slowly set her bag back down and listened to him, watching as his arm made it's way across the brunette's back, his hand in a vice like grip against his shoulder. It seemed like the blonde was up to something, probably angry that the sensible brunette denied his request to fight. She had to respond in case he would get angry and target her next, "...the weather is really nice out today...the nicest it's been in a few days..." Chise supposed she could stay since she had nowhere else to go in the first place...she just had to make sure to watch the boys, making sure they wouldn't start anything.
She was a bit surprised that the brunette understood her issue and even offered an alternative so her tree climbing practice wouldn't go to waste. "Really? You wouldn't mind going to a smaller tree? I wouldn't want to inconvenience you or make you do something you wish not to," the redhead said, looking at the brunette and frowning. She didn't want to take up anyone's time just so she could learn to properly climb a tree. What shocked her the most was the brunette casually moving away from the blonde and walking over to her, taking the initiative to introduce himself to her. She thought it was rather kind of him to do...gentlemanly like in fact. Chise softly smiled and said, "My name is Chise from General Studies...it's nice to meet you. I don't really know too many students in the hero classes but it's nice to finally talk to someone." Sure she had met a few people from the various hero classes but none ever took the initiative to introduce themselves first...it was always Chise introducing herself and waiting for the other's responses.
Chise listened to Yoruhi say she didn't have to climb the tree if she didn't want to and instead could do what she initially came here to do and watch the cherry blossoms. Chise shook her head and responded, "No...it's true I want to look at the cherry blossoms but if I learn how to climb a tree, I can see the cherry blossoms up close. I would love to be taught how to climb a tree." If the other was willing to help her, she would accept it full heartedly. She looked behind Yoruhi at the blonde and the other in the tree and spoke, "Are you all in the same hero class or different ones? Is that why there's this negative tension in the air? I'm sorry to intrude on your personal issues but it just seems like you three are upset at one another." She wasn't sure if all three boys were going to help or if would just be Yoruhi. She wasn't sure how she felt about the blonde, considering his semi-hostile nature. She looked up at the bluenette in the tree and wondered what exactly he was doing with a ball of ice, seeming like he was carving something out of it but she couldn't tell what it was exactly. His quirk was probably centered around creating ice...she would be sure to keep a mental note of that for later. She was still curious at what Yoruhi's and the blonde's quirks were exactly.

Darren threw his arms down in defeat, ignoring the bully comment. The gesture was very exaggerated. “Fine, fine, I get it, you’re one of those types. No fighting in front of the ladies,” he said, trailing behind the pair.
For all his mocking earlier, this Yoruhi boy wasn’t very confrontational after all now. Hell, it was even the opposite: he was actively trying to get away. To Darren, there could only be one explanation: girls.
One must understand the mind of a male heterosexual teenager: it is chock-full of hormones and at the stage of development where it sees sexual meaning in literally everything. Such is the mind of the sixteen years old blondie, so he naturally assumed that Yoruhi was on the prowl for a redhead. There could be no other reason why he wanted to get the girl away to see the sakura blossoms to the dumb teenager. He wanted to isolate her, work his game in peace. This made Darren grin.
So, in keeping with his plan to annoy him -- now it was just fun -- he stuck to them, gesturing at Maxi to follow his a look and a nod. He naturally intruded in their conversation, not caring the least whether he was being addressed to or not. “I’m Darren from 1-C!” he announced cheerfully when they introduced themselves. “Why no, it’s friendly competition is all,” he said when she asked if there were tensions. “We’re all trying to become the best damn heroes we can! Or, well, not all of us, I guess,” he added, staring at the girl. “What do y’all even do in general studies anyway? Is it really regular-ass school over there? Why go to UA if it’s for a regular-ass high school diploma?” he asked curiously, blunt as ever, scratching the top of his head much like a monkey. Perhaps Yoruhi wasn’t that off earlier with that comment.

I see you through the flood See you through the fire See you through the storms-a-raging
❧ The tiny ice-shards that Maxi shaved off while sculpting were almost immediately melted as they made contact with Yoru’s body. As his general body temperature was higher than any other individual’s, as if he had a constant fever, such tiny pieces of ice had no chance against him. But it still made his clothes slightly damp to prove as some annoyance, and he gave Maxi the glare of doom that could boil an ocean if given the opportunity. He could still control his emotional flame even despite that, and he refused to be tugged around by strings like a puppet controlled by Maxi’s incredibly cheeky attitude. Inwardly, he swore to melt whatever ice sculpture he was about to make later.
“What”, was the simple response Darren received upon his comment about no fight in front of ladies. Yoru glanced toward the red-head girl in their company, and then back at Darren, as if trying to connect the dots and failing to do so. This more than surely made it obvious that Yoru was incredibly dumb when it came to tact around women in general, and his avoidance of the fight stemmed from something else. He was just simply not willing to fight. But seriously, a few more dance-moves on his nerves, and he would be ready to burn that ridiculous blonde mop of hair off Darren’s head.
Instead, he tried to focus on the girl and tone out the two annoyances that were like persistent mosquitoes right about now. “Well, this isn’t the only tree here, and no one starts with the tallest one, so...” He shrugged, as if that could explain all his reasoning to why he would be willing to go to another one. He wasn’t even sure why tree-climbing was such an issue, but since he himself liked to nap on trees especially, he figured others would want to share the experience. And anyway, to them, climbing a tree could come just as handy out there when they are already heroes. Or well, in Chise’s case, when she needs to get away from a villain, as he had learned she wasn’t actually part of the hero course. He raised an eyebrow, but didn’t particularly comment on that part. The general studies branch existed for a reason, he figured, so she had just as much right to be here than the three troublemakers currently. “That’s fine, we don’t have classes or practice right now.” He waved a hand, as if dismissing her politeness that offered him to refuse the consideration. He didn’t even realize he already used “we” and confirmed that all boys might as well just stay there to help. “Chise, huh? It’s fine, getting to know others, we are going to the same school anyway, hero classes or not.”
He stared at Darren for the oblivious questions he fired Chise’s way. Partly, he himself was curious, of course. On the other hand, he could understand the existence of classes other than the hero course in the school. But still, the way Darren presented his questions were more than likely to receive him a punch to the face sooner or later. “Moron.” He rolled his eyes, and crossed his arms in front of his chest. “But I’m actually curious too.”
Turning back to Chise, he decided to answer her question as well. “I’m only upset at the cold.” He growled, staring at Maxi, and really hoping not to get more ice shards on his person. “Not that he could help it.” He added as an afterthought, indicating that he knew the ice-boy couldn’t control the passive part of his quirk. Still, that didn’t stop Yoru to be bothered by the chilly air always surrounding him in class and at other activities. And now he had to spend his free time in the freezing air too. Just. Wonderful. “I’m in the same class with that guy”, he pointed toward the chilly blue-haired one behind “but I have no idea who this dude is. Aside from a monkey.” He mentioned toward Darren. “Anyway, let’s go closer to the gate, there are smaller trees up there.”
