U.A. had a fantastic school cafeteria, but it was missing what every school cafeteria couldn’t have: the feeling of freedom that came with eating lunch on the roof. It was something Darren had been doing ever since he was in middle school, and none of his schools (note the plural) have had cafeterias in the past anyway. He was the kind to willingly look for and get in trouble, which meant he used to frequent pretty shitty schools.
Really shitty schools most of the time, in fact.
Darren craved the feeling today, so he stole a plastic Tupperware box from his mom's cupboard, filled it with food at the cafeteria, put it in his backpack and headed towards the nearest stairway. He went up with the spring a carefree delinquent who got himself a good night of sleep skipping math this morning and a sparring class in the afternoon had in his step. In his ears was blaring the electric guitar of Pete Townshend and the stuttering voice of a young Roger Daltrey, the drums of the dearly departed Keith Moon blasting to the rhythm of My Generation. He pushed the door to the roof open and greeted the mid-day sun screaming "Why don't you all f-f-faaaaade awaaaaaay!". He put on the pair of aviator shades he had in his shirt pocket -- as usual, his jacket was nowhere to be seen -- and rested his back on the wall that offered the most shade, sitting on the pleasantly warm ground. He inhaled a breath of fresh air and got his lunch out.
It was a scramble of scrambled eggs, rice, bacon, and veggies. He forgot about the side effects the spring in his step had on his food.
Whatever, shrugged the adolescent. He shoveled a copious… stickful? Stickfuls? of food in his mouth. There it was, he thought, the feeling of freedom and good food. Darren liked to model his life after delinquent manga and what would make for a cool rock album cover.

these rapid eyes will keep on moving "You're gonna fucking choke dude." A voice rang out from just outside his field of voice. It was the voice of a girl, one that spoke with confidence and even a bit of worry. She didn't want anyone choking on their food and dying right next to her, that would have been really annoying. She arrived on the rooftop a few minutes before Darren did and was up there for her own reasons. She decided on skipping a lunch meal and went with just a snack instead. Lani didn't feel like eating a whole big meal, so she took a package of cookies from the vending machine and brought them up to the rooftop with her instead of trekking all the way to the cafeteria for food. As for why she was on the rooftop, that reasoning was twofold. Back home, the rooftop wasn't really a place students could even get to. The doors to the roof were looked up pretty tightly and even if someone managed to get up there it wasn't comfortable. It was mostly for utility and work rather than relaxation and recreation.
After hearing about that students were allowed on the rooftop freely, Lani wanted to sate her curiosity and her stomach with a trip up on it. Secondly, Lani wanted the sunlight. Her quirk fed on light and sunlight was the most natural and best feeling light she could have. It was why she was always dressed so haphazardly and show so much skin. She wanted to get as much light touching it as possible. It really built up her confidence over her life and she had no worry or shame in showing off her body because of it. Even now, on the roof, her uniform was open for all to see. Lani didn't have her blazer on at all. It was being used as something to sit on back when she was eating one of her cookies. And the shirt underneath? It was unbuttoned and completely open. Every time there was a breeze, it would open and lift up to flow with the wind; hanging on to Lani by her biceps.
The tie was stuffed in some place in her blazer's pocket. Lani would retrieve it any time she needed it for class, just to say she was wearing it. Fortunately, the bottom half of her uniform lent itself well to Lani's needs. The skirt didn't bother her so much and she could forgo any kind of stockings in favor of ankle socks to wear along with her shoes. Naturally, her bra was visible because of the way she wore her uniform, and today she was wearing a dark blue bralette. She moved around a lot, so padding and wires always bothered her. She stood looking down at Darren, chuckling a bit as she watched him scarf down his food like some kind of dog. Lani's left hand was placed on her hip while the other was resting down at her side. Her weight was shifted a bit to the left and could be seen in her posture. "It ain't that good is it?" She asked as a follow-up, curious to if today's food was better than any other's. ulla

I have a cool head But a hot heart Jinn was calmly laying on the roof. his lower legs were dangling down the edge of the roof. He climbed over the window so he was laying on the slanted side of the roof. He upper body wasn't covered by his school uniform anymore revealing his athletic built he carried with his upper body. Only his legs were still wrapped in the pants of the uniform. He wasn't wearing his shoes either. While he was calmly laying there enjoying the sunlight and watching with his blue-grey eyes towards the clouds in the distance. Being like this was his favorite thing to do. Just relax without anything going on.
Jinn suddenly heard voices behind him so he started sitting up a bit. He didn't know anyone since he was a new student from classroom 1-B He didn't even know people from his class. Yea he was that new. It was his first day here and wasn't in the mood to sit inside with this amazing weather. Not that he felt a big difference though between warm and cold weather because of his quirk.
Jinn's head turned towards the two while he scratched a bit on the back of his head. His left eye is covered by some strand of his thick black hair like most of the time. It didn't matter what he did somehow his hair always fell in front of his left eye. He kept quiet though big chance they will spot him sooner or later he thought. ulla Lani BijanDaimon Darren

Distracted by the rock n’ roll blaring from his earphones, he noticed neither the boy or the girl when he got to the roof. He heard a muffled voice to his right and turned his head, right as he was about to embarrass himself screaming Who lyrics to no one.
Next to him was a tan chick with her shirt open, sitting on her blazer. She had one of them small tiddy bras with no padding on, appropriately so considering her size, and not much else in the way of clothes, less appropriately so considering school uniform rules. The adolescent couldn’t help but stare for a second, a little dumbfounded, before he lifted his gaze to meet her eyes. He gulped down the mouthful he was eating before he yanked out his earphones with little care for the integrity of the electronics.
Darren said nothing for a second, his face a blank. A few days ago, the situation would have flustered him, but he’d met Yumi, the promiscuous redhead who sat in front of him in class, and now he was kind of used to being around girls with open shirts. Plus, this one didn’t have nearly the same... ‘volume’ of personalities as Yumi, which made things a lot easier. He opened his mouth to say something, but then closed it. His eyes narrowed as if he was looking past the girl.
“Man, what the fuck is everyone’s problem with clothes at this school?”
What he as looking at, past the white-haired girl, was the dude sunbathing shirtless, who was now turning to look at them. Darren had a voice on him, so the guy was likely to have heard him.
Not that his own uniform was within regulation either, his jacket and tie nowhere to be seen, his shirt untucked and partially unbuttoned. Nonetheless, most people would describe him as “clothed”, which was more than could be said of the pair who were crowding his roof now.

these rapid eyes will keep on moving Lani raised a brow and shrugged her shoulders. "The uniforms are shit and I need the sunlight. Oh well." She answered, even though the question was likely rhetorical. If she was going to have a special uniform designed, she would get one that was sheer and let some kind of light through. But since the uniforms, by definition, had to be the same for everyone she wasn't going to get anything like that. However, when Lani noticed the dude looking behind her, she turned to see that there was another guy on the rooftop. It was turning out that this place was pretty popular, so maybe there was something to it. Looking out at the city was nice and all, but that couldn't be the only draw right. Maybe certain personalities gathered up here and formed some kind of weird loner bound or something. Lani didn't know, but she thought it was kind of interesting.
As for the guy that was over there by himself, why? Did he want to be alone? If so, picking a spot that seemed to e popular in pop culture didn't seem like a good idea. It was possible he was just being a creeper though, in which case, Lani was going to call him out on it. If that wasn't the case, the least he could do was come and join them. Some girls like the quiet brooding types but Lani was having none of that shit. "Yo, what are you doing over there? Don't be Yuuei's first suicide please!" She yelled out, mostly joking. It was a dark one, but it was another one of those things popularized in the media. The thought couldn't help but be had. It was why these roofs had fences right? "Both of you trying to die or what?" She added, mostly speaking to Darren with how he was trying to choke himself on the food he was eating. What was up with these boys and their recklessness. Not that she had room to talk much. ulla

I have a cool head But a hot heart Jinn raised his eyebrow towards the girl that yelled at him. "If I wanted to kill myself I would have already done it." He yelled back at her. "I am just trying to keep my tan up." Jinn yelled right after. Jinn wasn't some weird stalker, he didn't mind company and stuff like that. He was here because he liked the view plus he liked to sunbath and relax and most rooftops were the excellent place for him to do that.
Jinn looked back towards them although he kept calmly laying there "You know you guys are welcome to join here though." Jinn said calmly towards them in the lazy yet tired tone he always carried with him. It was because of his quirk he always sounded a bit too relaxed and calm like nothing bothered him. The same counted for his permanent relaxed tone his face carried with him ulla Lani Bijan Daimon Darren

Apparently, the tan chick needed the sunlight. “Are you a tree or something?” is all that Darren answered, going back to his meal in a Tupperware. It was a little sad-looking, to be honest.
The shirtless dude and the almost-shirtless girl exchanged suicide jokes, which made the delinquent raise another eyebrow. Apparently, the both of them were trying to get a tan, from what he could gather. The guy really sounded like he was about to jump off, though, with that lazy, almost depressing tone of his. “I ain’t,” he answered between two mouthfuls when she asked them if they were trying to die.
He got through his meal rather quickly. He spied that the tree girl was eating cookies, and he eyed those with envy. He underestimated his hunger, and now he was hungry for more. He grumbled mentally. Had he been the only one here like he originally planned, he would have simply got down to the cafeteria to get more, but now there were two people and he didn’t want to seem entirely anti-sociable.
Plus, a certain organ of his was starting to wake up and notice that hey, there’s another half-naked girl talking to us, and his teenage ass couldn’t help but wonder if she was like Yumi. A softer, more approachable Yumi. In which case, it was very interesting, and his circulatory system started pumping a little more blood down below.
Sure, she didn’t have the same… ‘Personalities’ as the redhead, but it wasn’t preventing his teenage imagination from picturing stuff that the rest of Darren’s mind prudently decided was best confined to the borders of his mind now. Still, it was agreed that something needed to be said. He decided to go with what worked on Yumi. Don’t change a winning team, right?
“So… Do you often hang out on the roof shirtless?”

these rapid eyes will keep on moving Lani looked at Darren and shrugged, "I'd be the best damn tree there was." She joked with a small smirk. Being able to perform photosynthesis would be amazing. The idea of being able to eat with something as abundant as a free as light, water, and dirt was super convenient. Not to mention that she wouldn't have to wade through all the terrible things put into food for taste and addictiveness. She didn't really have a real judgment on Japanese food yet though. However, in the states, it was horrible. Being a tree would have been so much easier. Just head turned back to the direction of Jinn as he explained himself and offered for them to join him. She couldn't really say that sunbathing wasn't exactly what she was doing as well, but she wasn't doing it for a tan. She already had dark skin and it was from genetic, not a desire to not look pasty and pale.
"Alright, I'll take you up on that." She said as she walked back over to her blazer and cookies. If she was going to hang out up here, it was probably a good idea to see what the other types of people were like. So far, Lani couldn't really make a real judgment. One of them was pretty snappy, but Lani liked that. It kept the conversation going and she wasn't one to let comments get to her. With as much as she showed off, Lani grew mostly immune to criticisms about the way she dressed. The other she wasn't sure what to make of yet. He was mostly just answering what the others spoke about, but he didn't seem completely antisocial. He did invite them over after all.
Lani took the few steps back to her stuff that she needed and knelt down to pick them up. Any girl that wore a skirt knew better than to bend down and it was better for her back to do so anyway. She picked up her blazed with one hand and the bag of cookies with the other. Once Lani stood back up, she slung the blazer over her shoulder and started to walk toward the slanted edge of the roof. "Come on dude." She said, waving Darren over in case he had doubts about joining them. "I try to wear them a little as possible," She added, finally answering his question. "My quirk needs the light on my skin, so I've grown to allow as much of it as possible to touch it. I'd say I got off pretty easy compared to some others." All quirks had some kind of physical or social drawback associated with them. It shaped a person just as much as any other physical attribute or personality defect would. For Lani, it was her immodesty and aside from the prudes, she didn't mind it at all. "What class ya'll in anyway?" She added, realizing that no one had introduced themselves just yet. ulla

I have a cool head But a hot heart Jinn would sit up straight when they came closer to him. So he was a bit more approachable and social towards them. Jinn wasn't much of a talker though. Jinn heard the question of the guy if he was on the roof more often without a shirt. Jinn nodded before saying. "Yea I never really like shirts. They don't really do anything for me so I walk mostly without them." Jinn calmly said. "Most girls aren't complaining about it though." Jinn said with a simple shrug. Jinn knew he had a good built although.
Jinn moved his backpack behind him so there was space next to him if one of the wanted to sit right next to him. He didn't really care if they did though but he was atleast polite enough to move it. ulla Lani Bijan Daimon Darren

Darren considered using his annoyed face. He just wanted to have his lunch in peace while listening to the Who’s greatest hits. He glanced at his phone to stop the music as he walked over, still playing in the earphones. The song that was playing was “Who are you”, which was oddly fitting with the girl’s question.
“I’m Darren, I’m in 1C,” he said, stopping before he reached the edge. He had no fear of heights, but didn’t want to make it seem like he was staying here long. The thought of going back down for some more food was becoming more and more appealing.
He had a side glance for the shirtless guy. It sounded very much like he was trying to show off, talking about how girls liked it. Darren didn’t care much for it. On another day, he would have been competitive, what with a hot girl present and all, but the dude’s laziness must have been contagious or something. He just wasn't feeling it today.
Being the only one here with his shirt still on, he started to feel at odds. A familiar feeling crept up. He was starting to feel out of place, to feel like he didn’t belong here with these people. Walking away without a word was starting to feel very tempting.
He shoved down those feelings and forced an empty smile. He looked for a joke to go with it, found none. He resigned himself to listening to them talk for now. Maybe the feeling would pass.

these rapid eyes will keep on moving Lani moved to sit down and relax with the two guys she was with. It was like something out of some cheesy romance novels, but she was just interested in who all she was hanging out with. As long as she was with someone doing something, all was good. She hated idle time and awkward silences, so Lani was usually the one to make sure there was some kind of conversation going. It was a good thing too considering the kind of responses she got from the two. One of them didn't even answer her question and the other gave the smallest answer he could possibly give. What was up with that? Lani had a domineering personality but she didn't feel like she was being too pushy. Maybe she just needed to talk about something that interested them. Bust these guys out of their shells and get the ball rolling. If they were going to be heroes, they couldn't be all closed off like this. Not if they wanted to become popular badasses. Then again, the mysterious feel was pretty cool too.
"Oh yeah?" She asked as she attempted the slap the back of Jinn's back. "What's it take for them to get you talkin', cause apparently just asking isn't enough?" She laughed as she stretched her legs out in front of them. She crossed one over the other and had them intersect just above her knee. The dark skin girl leaned back to balance herself and placed one hand behind her on the roof for suppose. "I'm Lani by the way, in 1-B and all that." She added to make sure she introduced herself as well. After doing so, her attention turned toward Darren as she pointed over at his headphones with her free hand. "What you listening to anyway? Turn that shit up and share a bit." Lani suggested this with a circular wag of her index finger while she pointed at the boy.
"I'm over here trying to be social and all but you aren't giving me shit. Is this a distraction?" She questioned while motioning a hand toward her midriff. She didn't seem that shy, but if it really was the problem and was stifling the conversation, Lani could cover up for a little while. She wasn't a complete asshole. In the end, what Laniw as getting from this was that people came up here to just hang out by themselves and be loser loners. It wasn't her thing, so that was probably why she seemed so pushy. But Lani couldn't really help but try to include those that were hanging off on their own. ulla

Jinn looked towards the two and the the guy leave again in the corner of his eye until he suddenly got a slap on his back. He didn't flinch or anything though he just stayed relaxed. "Mostly I talk more but a pretty girl can make a guy speachless." He said a bit teasing towards her before they started introducing themself. "I am Jinn Kukki from 1-B. I am pretty new here." He said friendly while he looked at both of them.
Jinn shook his head when she asked if her body was a distraction "no but it is improving the view." Jinn said with a simple shrug. Jinn was pretty blunt though but he was mostly telling the truth. He didn't like to lie if it wasn't necessary.
